I really didn't want the series to end with Doom 3. It doesn't have the "Doom" atmosphere, and it just seems like the average shooter at the time.. nothing special. Besides, I want to see it all in post-Crysis graphics.
 
yay another game where you can't see to aim with one way in and out, just what i always wanted
 
Hmm, I have hopes for this. Doom 3 had some REALLY good parts, the first part where everyone is screaming, it really puts the fear in you. Hell was SPECTACULAR in it, best part of the game IMO.

If they would have made DOOM 3 just a little less repetitive, it would have been great, but as it stands, Far Cry and HL2 were better at the time.
 
i hope it has a damn site more bad guys ,one of the things in doom1/d2 was when u walked intoa room and it was swarming with bad guys and u crapped ur urself thinking omg ,in doom 3 that just didnt happen :(

i really hope they get some of the omg factor back into doom
 
This better make me crap my pants, Doom 3 was enjoyable and on occasion I jumped a few times, but now with id's new engine they should be able to concentrate on making the story scary as fock!

id didn't make HL, so you'll probably be getting both at some point - which can only be a good thing, right?
 
Its gonna have to be pretty amazing considering the pedigree no pressure.
 
no it doesnt, they just need low light, the same monsters we had 15 years ago, and slightly better graphics and you have Doom 4.
 
Yeah ya probably right man just put the name doom 4 on a box and it will sell squillions.
 
yep, heck you could port Doom 3 to the new engine and people would by it. ID software hasnt changed there look in 10 years and i have serious doubts they ever will.
 
I hope they have a Co-op Multiplayer feature.
