Does an AM3 chip work on a AM2+ board? I'm 99% sure the other way around wouldn't work since AM2+ doesn't have DDR3 support in the mem controller.

hey dude, I plan on going AM3 soon since I got a nice tax return. I've been looking at this OCZ DDR3 kit for some time now, it reaches 2000mhz, or is supposed to rather. Anyway, Shadowfold said that AM3's are capped at 1800mhz. Is this true?

If you want a good cooler for 50$ I'll let you have my Zalman 120 for 50$ Can't beat the performance, the thing is a monster for air cooling the cpu, and it doesn't sound like a jet engine.
