Hi,

I have recently upgraded my main pc to 7800x3D.

Now my old build was a 10850k with a AORUS MASTER Z490 and 48GB RAM.
A guy i met in university (a decade ago) asked me if it would be willing to trade my 10850k for his:
Ryzen 7 5800X
Gigabyte Aorus X570 I Pro Wifi
32GB (Im keeping the other 16GB).

Is this a win or a lose trade if i would make it.

This system will be mainly used for either gaming by my wife or the standard office thing, mail internet etc.
Im doubting because of the extra cores the i9 has.The gaming results dont vary that much, but is it worth it

Like to hear your view on this.

The 10850K is slightly slower than the 10900K which itself is slightly slower than the 5800X

In games the Intel CPU is very slightly faster but consumes a fair bit more power. The 5800X is the better CPU and I would take it if the quality of motherboard and memory exchanged is relatively similar or even if you are giving up a tad higher quality mobo to get the AMD CPU. If you are giving relatively a much higher value mobo / memory then I'd say no. I'd also consider how trustworthy said friend is. Make sure you always test parts you get because even friends might not be aware of a potential issue.

5800X is slightly faster than the 11900K and pulls less watts, go ahead and trade it.

I'd have to think about why would somebody want to make that trade.
It doesn't seem like much of an upgrade for your friend, unless he has a problem currently.
It's not going to be any improvement your wife is likely to notice.
I've never had anyone try to trade me something that was any benefit to me at all.
I've just given a broke friend a $400 GPU so his games were a little better, and I've had a friend do the same kind of thing for me.
I'm not even worried about trying to 'win' a trade with a friend.

Its more like we know eachother form University. And we sometimes speak to eachother in a group.
Currently he has and Itx build and want to go back to a ATX Build.
