5070 Ti power limit questions

The 5000 series overclocks very well. What you get out of the extra power depends on the workload. Keeping the faster clocked BIOS and ONLY changing the max power from 300W to 350W, Time Spy extreme (graphics score) only gains about 2% but Furmark about 11% (from 129-134fps to 143-148fps). Games tend to be somewhere in between.

Totally relevant point but it's all part of the fun with playing with new hardware for me :)

@webmanau which exact BIOS did you flash it with? I've tried flashing my windforce 5070 ti, and power is peaking at only 337, staying below 330w most of the time. Also, in GPU-z what's your GPU's bios version?

I'll check but the cards don't pull the full 350w on every workload. Some games just peak around 300w and slightly above.
Edit: This is the one: Gigabyte RTX 5070 Ti 16 GB Gaming OC BIOS 274039

I'll try again with that version of the BIOS. I know you said you had to uncheck voltage control, but are you still using the third party voltage profile to hit 350?

Do you have unlocked voltage control? i have same card and same bios but 0.995 and not above...

Hi all,

Managed to get myself a Gigabyte Windforce OC at (almost) MSRP. I used Afterburner and did some overclocking. The power limit is 300W and I'd have to flash another BIOS to get more which is easy enough. Here's the thing I can't work out: When doing Time Spy Extreme runs, Afterburner is reporting the Max_Power_Limit at 1 so that should indicate it's hit 300W max but at the same time reported power usage is only 250W.

What am I not getting here?

TIA

Edit: OK, shut down computer, pulled power and left it for 15 seconds. Rebooted and Afterburner, on load froze the PC. Took a while but uninstalled Afterburner and deleted settings. Power down as before, rebooted and re-installed Afterburner. Somehow(!) the GPU seemed stuck on a wrong base clock of 1200Mhz and a max power limit of 250W. Note sure whether beta 5 of Afterburner has a bug or wtf is going on.

Hey everyone, I'm new here, though I've been around the hardware scene for a while.
I can share with you my RTX 5070 Ti Aorus Master VBIOS with a 350W limit if you want. In fact, I'm looking for a 400W VBIOS, but there isn't one available yet.

In fact, the other day I was messing around with the overclock of this 5070 Ti, and it performs quite well with minimal effort. On air cooling, I was able to achieve pretty decent results considering the 350W limit and that it’s still stock with no mods or anything like that. That’s why I’d like to try taking it a step further without having to do any hardware mods, if possible.
Here I share with you some of my recent results

I tried this bios for windorce non_OC, with no luck in practical results. Powerlimit ok, 350W reachable)

Amazing results! Which card? PL and voltage locked?
Thanks! I've written two posts before, in the first one I introduced myself and shared the BIOS of my 5070 Ti Aorus Master, which has a 350W limit. But moderation has blocked my messages, I guess because I'm new around here...

Power limit is 350W so far with the stock BIOS and no mods. The voltages fluctuate depending on the benchmark, the overclock, and the available headroom, but they usually range from around 1.030V at stock to about 1.050V when I push the MSI Afterburner voltage slider to 100%

Stock @1.065V

@Mystic1978 I used your bios, and I finally unlocked 350w, so thank you for that. Barely even touched clock speeds and voltages, and I was able to soar past my previous 7.3k barrier with just the extra power.

However, I have a new problem. When I get into a real game and not a synthetic (POE2) It defaults to old power limits of 300w. Funnily enough, if I screw around with voltages and clock speeds to force a crash of the game, the one where POE2 will specifically open a second game client behind the scenes, it will then start using the new 350w limit. Does anyone know what on earth is going on?

A bit of an update. If I roll back drivers to 572.83, I get the old problem of the GPU hardly ever budging past 330w, but if I update to 576.02, I'll unlock the full 350w + better performance, but PoE2 defaults to 300w until I force a mini crash, at which point I get the full 350w. I guess I should try installing current drivers without geforce experience and see if that works.

U mean Gigabyte 5070 TI Windforce SFF OR Gigabyte 5070 TI Windforce OC SFF?

I have 1st and it has voltage lock on 1.005mV

Please make sure to upload it using GPU-Z, so that it becomes part of our BIOS collection, which is what everyone uses to find BIOSes. New search engine coming soon btw, similar to how search works in SSD DB
