1. The OP gave three specific options and requested that only these were to be considered.
2. I would guess that a GTX 970 is substantially more than the 7970/280X currently and the OP did not state "find a card within $X price range".

you have your point. and even in current senario most people have delayed their purchases in GPU and waiting for 970 availability to grab the beast. But here i and all others except you kept focussed on OP options. actually what he want it atm.

still 7970 Matrix is Devil. at 1080p is a beast performer. and display wise no comparison. and if he had him in lowest possible price then it is better as in the end it all depends on buyer's Budget. isn't it?

My intention is definitely not this. but to pointed out about creative opinion of yours. I think point was pretty valid too regarding to go with 970 instead of 7970 or 280x. as the matter of fact the biggeest news and updates surrounding the hardware world is Nvidia's Maxwell chips now.
