Is there any point in using CAP on single card configurations? I mean does it pack any application specific tweaks that single cards can also benefit or is it strictly just CrossfireX profiles?

Pretty sure it is mostly for crossfire setups.

Is this for Eyefinity or CrossfireX only? I'm a regular joe with a single card and display.

Single card, Multiple card, single display, multiple display, mobility - as long as your product is supported by the main catalyst driver, the application profile update applies. Do eeet! Do eeet nauuughh!

Rumor is that Shift 2 got an update that fixes Crossfire support, next CAP update will re-enable driver support.

from the twitter acct i linked to, that needs a hotfix rather than a CAP update, or depending, might just come out with 11.6 drivers since were getting close, my guess is they re enable CF support for Shift 2 in this, maybe something for Brink, i'm sure we'll learn soon enough

I would imagine so, if you look up a couple posts, there is a link to a Rage3D page with a simple FAQ on the CAP, according to that it is good to install even on a single card.

I guess i'll just install it. It can't hurt i guess if it's allowed to be installed on single card configs.

Cap 11.5 cap 4 is the one I need for Dirt 3 im guessing?

Not 100% sure, but I don't think any of the CAPS yet have included anything on Dirt 3, could be wrong. I know that CAP #4 doesn't have any added support for Dirt 3.

new CAP out, OP updated, this one is for witcher 2, and according to the twitter acct linked int he OP, CAPs are 99% CFX (i'm 99% sure this includes 3870x2, 4870x2, 5970, and 6990) users, and rarely fix anything for single cards, which I know the rage3d FAQ says otherwise, but as a single card user, with and without has given me no diff in FPS, so doesnt hurt
