AMD Catalyst 11.11 WHQL Driver Suite Released

They should have released these on 11/11...would have freaked everyone out.

so how does this driver perform? i was thinking of installing this later...

I've noticed there was a new entry in the installer called "Application Profiles". I guess they'll pack these profiles last minute before driver release so they don't have to wait for long WHQL testing, yet they can deliver latest CAP with the driver. As far as i understand it...

has anybody try this new driver for BF3 (5xxx Crossfire family)? I will try it later, too busy with MW3

Just did. Played 3 rounds of BF3. Seem just fine. Colors seem to be a little brighter.Might be just me. Also noticed my loaded GPU temps were about 5c cooler. Now testing 2nd GPU usage.
EDIT: I went back to the 11.10. more FPS and the color thing was my imagination.

Went back to 11.10's. 11.11's cost me so much fucking agro with BF3 that i almost quit playing the game.

11.11's would make my games crash 8 times out of 10 at the loading screen while waiting to join a game.

then it stopped doing that and started crashing in the middle of a game.

the crashing is so bad i cant even get into a game

The 11.9's are about the best out there for my card.

The 6990 rocks out big time with this driver. :rockout:

11.10's started crashing like fuck so im back to 11.9's again.

If its still crashing with 11.9's then i will just rage quit the game until they release the second patch and fix the fucking game. I love the game but I cant be dealing with this bullshit.

Sheesh people, these drivers sound like a nightmare. :shadedshu WTF are AMD doing? Are nvidia users having similar issues?

A couple of years ago I realized that nvidia cards tend to be better behaved over issues like this, so I switched from AMD and have had a very smooth experience since then, with few glitches.

Me using AMD gpu's have never given me any issues. Outta all the drivers I love the 11.9's the best.

Being a bit over-dramatic are we? One person in this thread has issues with these drivers and they're a "nightmare"? If you check the BF3 thread you'll find many, if not most people are satisfied with their AMD cards and BF3.

Got these installed now and smooth in everything...including Skyrim.

meh still no skyrim mentioned fail sauce

skyrim is probably the biggest PC release of the year at this point probably more so then even BF3, and theres still no proper support, AMD is slipping this year.

Yeah, must have been all that effort in bringing Bulldozer to market.

I haven't really been keeping up with Skyrim. What issues are AMD cards having that Nvidia cards aren't?

lolz probably but who knows,

considering this is STILL THE GAMEBRYO ENGINE

it really shouldnt be that damn hard for AMD to get a crossfire profile ready, i mean seriously its the same engine tweaked yes.. but the rendering techniques used are still the same as Oblivion / Fallout 3 / New Vegas. so in reality it shouldnt take this long this is a game that should have had xfire support from day one and we all honestly know that. the fact AMD is working harder on Global Ops and Saints Row 3 is rather saddening as niether of those games will see the play time that Skyrim does.

and in all honesty Xfire can be forced via changing the exe name, to something AFR friendly hell can rename it to previous gamebryo titles and get xfire working just fine, so AMD is dragging there knuckles for no real reason. I expect proper support without having to halfass it to get proper support,

I don't play Skyrim, so unfortunately I can't tell you. I think erocker does, so perhaps he can shed some light on this?

As in Lord of the rings online? If so, are there any specific problems? :)

Yes and yes, Light sources seem to lag a system out with a ATI card. Over a week ago there was a long ass thread with all the people having the issue but they started ANOTHER and sticky post so everyone see's it but i think most don't care now.

There is some nVidia users who seem to have the issue but i believe it's a different one as the numbers of ATI user is crazy who have the issue.

Shame to was hell load of fun to play until you got to some points in the game then the fps dropped like hell.

Damn you qubit, I was expecting a detailed answer.

Now I don't feel bad for taking the pink handbag.

CrossFire gives negative performance. Single card, no issue.

I'll wait for a fix to pick this up then. Thanks for the info. :toast:

I could waffle on at length if you like? :p

I wanted the pink handbag. >sulk<

That's weird, I never experienced light-related lags. I do, however, have problems with totally fucked up distant textures that appear in some purplish tone. Maybe it's related to specific cards. My 5850 seems to be problems-free so far (but that might change if I upgrade ;P)
