AMD Outs "Bristol Ridge" APU Performance Numbers

These are "4 core" laptop chips I would rather hope your desktop i7 performed better...
In what regard should it perform better? In my use scenario i don't see lack of CPU power, i mostly see bottleneck by my 6TB and 3TB WD Red HDDs when doing a BD remux, SSDs are still like 7-10x more expensive per capacity than HDDs. My watercooled GBT G1 GTX 970 1600/8400 was also a good buy 2 years ago considering i don't want to sponsor nvidia too much and AMD gpu's too high power consumption. However completely all AMD CPUs are causing heavy bottleneck for any new GPU-even mainstream-they always run better on intel. AMD laptop CPUs are still behind intel laptop CPUs like 50-100% in efficiency(performance/watt). AMDs market share is still going to be miserable because they are unable to finally deliver proper highend CPU and efficient mobile CPUs.
 
The 8320/50 are good at stock for driving GPUs.

What on earth are you getting on about? Do you have any apples and oranges to compare? Your ram consumes as much power as these mobile CPU's I would rather hope your I7 is more powerful in every single way imaginable.

it scores about 1300 in cinebench as well.

The CPU alone also comes more power at idle than my complete quad core AMD HTPC does under full load.

AMD is probably not going to catch Haswell-E performance even with Excavator and at that time there will already be Broadwell-E on the market. I really don't understand what are they doing at AMD.

What?

Who was expecting Excavator (which these new Bristol Ridge APUs use) to ever approach Haswell/Haswell-E in performance?

And I have a Prius that gets 48mpg. Just wanted to say that.
 
i7 6700HQ gets a 663 score.

A 1024 shader Zen APU IGP needs the same bandwith as a 7870, so DDR4 may not me enough. Remember Zen is 14/16nm, a lot of the L3 cache is going to be used for the IGP, 2048 shaders on desktop APUs doesn't sound so crazy, and 25GB/s is not enought for that.

DDR3/DDR4 2400 in dual channel is 32 GB/s but yes it's still not enough, not even for a GCN Gen 3 with 512 shaders in a A10 7850K for example. 2 options: use way higher bandwidth ram, 3000+ or HBM. The latter will help more with performance and is likely a must if the APU has even more shaders than 512 or else it will be heavily bottlenecked. I really hope those highend Zen APUs will feature HBM, DDR4 is not enough after 512 shaders.
 
PC Mark 8 isnt that CPU? related? or is that GPU?
