Asus controversial x570 marketing

ASUS had a slew of marketing slides prepared to show enthusiasts why they should opt for its X570 motherboards instead of the competition’s, but they were removed after MSI and GIGABYTE complained to AMD about them. The slides have resurfaced for those who are curious about ASUS’s original claims. A lot of bold statements are made as to why TUF/PRIME/ROG STRIX X570 motherboards are better than the alternatives, such as ASUS being the only brand to use 6-layer PCBs. But some enthusiasts such as Buildzoid points out, many of the claims are misleading and completely untrue. Didn't Asus get some flak for skimping on VRM phases a while back?

That said, the CF VIII Hero is definitely the best board out of the 3 they compared.

Well we know they aren't comparing on price Asus is +$100 USD minimal in some of these comparisons. If your spending up to 70% more you'd better get something great out of it. I just don't see that.

I guess it helps if you just report a lower temp.

It dosent changes my choise that i will still be getting a asus rog crosshair viii hero mobo for my Ryzen 9 3950X.

I never trust marketing material no matter who they are from. That i am getting asus is purely based from my personal exsperiense with asus boards before. Mainly the two X58 boards i have had/still have. None of them have failed or made me dissapointed. They just keep working every day even throw the one i have now is from like 2010.

Hmmm... controversial? Eh... since when have companies not sized each other up? I guess it's more of a direct jab than people are used to. Kind of toeing the line basically naming names without doing so in a legal sense... maybe. Honestly not sure how kosher that actually is lol.

The words in my head are questionable... and dubious. Maybe it's accurate info, but within what scope? It's very easy to design tests that give you the numbers you want and show advantages not quite as applicable or relevant in real usage... which is not so much outright dishonest as it is simply misleading. Like, they can say that in their testing their boards perform like this and their competitors perform like that and it can be true while also being completely meaningless.

Nothing new, for anyone in this biz, really. What would really be interesting would be to have someone with the relevant hardware actually test all of these claims and outline thier methods. Because what we have now is basically a summary of the results of a scientific study without the big, sweeping section on methodology. Just a bunch of useless numbers if you can't see precisely how they got them. The nature of the test matters just as much as the results. Maybe more. I was just talking about this the other day... how people like to quote the results of studies like gospel, using them to answer whatever questions they see fit, regardless of whether the methods used in the test are at all relevant to the circumstances.

Also the "DrMos" solution is great until you get into repairing them, (usually toasted ic with a severe pcb burnout underneath). In 9/10 cases the board needs to be scrapped because a proper fix is not possible lol. I did a liquid damage repair (shitty aio) on my X299 Tomahawk, 1year later still doing fine.
