Personally I think BF3 wore dave out and I don't blame him cause we raped that game since beta and now that BF4 is out and has quite similar gameplay it feels like hes back in BF3 again with newer maps/upgrades.

that is the exact same problem I had trying to run the damn beta. Never did get the beta game to run!

Sure as hell makes me worried about spending the frigging money on a game that will not run for me.

I am running AMD 7870 and your running Nvidia so it isn't the video card team.

Tell me about it, I even bought the Digital Deluxe version. Gonna play around with it tonight to so if I can figure it out. There's a bunch of threads over at EA's forums from people with the same issue too.

I take the top server score in at least 3 out of 10 rounds (as you can see by checking my play history). Sure, the helis are easier to fly now...as are the jets...but me...I prefer a challenge. At least with BF4...I might break less mice. Knife counters work awesomely.

I don't now I am worried about breaking mine more cause as I keep mentioning seems relatively easy to then counter that counter; I end up slamming my side melee button like a crazy man now especially if I see any pause at all in the animation. So far I have been able to break/win every counter attempt but one on my initial knife (incl the beta). I'm not the only one who has seen the face punch thing so far right? Usually have bad luck when it comes to knifing too, especially in BF3.

And there is a hilarious video of LevelCap countering three guys right in a row in like 5 seconds and I don't see why none of them could break it unless most people don't really know to hit melee more than once.

Having trouble finding a good brightness setting where the sun isn't blinding and it's not too dark that seeing enemies on a black backdrop is impossible

Is your display itself calibrated? Could help. If not try going to TFT Central and look for an ICC for your Asus model (or a similar with same panel). If you do go that route also look at their ICC install guide cause there are some key points.

Nah, I think I gotta stop playing AGAINST randoms... when playing with you guys, we just tend to overrun everyone. Very rarely do we run into similar "skills".

So, I'm gonna start hopping to the other time from time to time when we play.

Why can't DICE have a hardcore setting for SP mode?

Why devote resources to the COD-like single player campaign over more multiplayer enchantments>? I finished the SP last night and it was meh, I almost wished they skipped making it and devoted more time to MP. I do like the combat training component though.

to at least try and learn to fly a chopper.

That is a valid complaint re. single player and resources...but a lot less valid than with BF3 I think. Except for a couple details like moar destruction they really added a lot and refined this game very well on the multiplayer side.

I thought it was me having an AMD card but you having Nvidia blows that out. I also tried 3 different browsers as well; IE, FireFox, and Chrome. None of which would run the game.

I suck with vehicles and that's why I tended to avoid them in BF3. But vehicles in the BF4 beta were a huge improvement for me - the control was closer to BFBC2.

Especially the cringe-worthy cut scenes. They should have created a way to skip through those! Somehow, I narrowly missed a few points to unlock the P90...

You know what, I think it is more enjoyable from time to time when say we have 8 in a server that 4 is on one side and 4 on the other and try to kill/knife each other. It keeps the actions up with our group on TS

The game play is the same as BF3 , but there is a lot of added stuff from the Frostbite 3 engine that adds to how you fight and cover. Plus a few extra surprises to kill your ass. It looks great too. I'm glad I didn't have to go through and rebind everything. That was added bonus. I wasn't bored at all. Of course I don't have nearly the hours in on BF3 that you guys do and haven't gamed much since I got the GTO.

I am in the same boat
I need to try to figure out this whole flying thing as I usually suck at it. The only game I successfully was able to fly anything in was BF2142 (transport jet thingys).

I found the LMGs to be pretty sweet in BF4 instead of BF3.

I haven't really been big into bf3, I was more interested in bc2. But I have a question for the hard core players. In BF4, does dmg vary based on where on the body you shoot someone? As in, does it have a dynamic hit box? Is there a chart online somewhere that shows the DMG output for each gun? If so, I'd greatly appreciate it!

Have you posed the question on the official forums?

I always thought the head was a separate hit box from the rest of the body?

Better worded would have been some of the maps in this game are horribly balanced for rush. I was raging

Hainan resort is a great example of a completely terrible rush map

I just tried it on my laptop (MSI GE60). Running Windows 8.1 and an nvidia GPU, and it works perfectly. WTF

I too feel the maps are a bit underwhelming.... cant expalain it.....they are beautiful don't get me wrong. But something feels wrong about alot of them. There is too much huge open space I think and vehicles just trounce infantry. And Im a classic BF conquest guy, can't put my finger on it. Hopefully some more time will change my mind.
