Benefits of SLI RAM?

What are the benefits of having my sli ram in an sli mobo? I have seen an option in my bios to bump up the speeds..from 1% to 5% and then expert.

Marketing. It is like WHQL for microsoft if the driver does not yet have sertificate from microsoft doesn`t mean that it wont work. The same is for the memory if it is not tested in sli mobo does not mean that won`t work.

You get this setting in 790I ultra boards and maybe others. I have this SLi memory over clock setting. I can move it up or all the way down. It's a pre setting.

No what it is that they took the time to make sure that their product held up to code and that it works with thier stuff. Over 95%+ time it does not matter. BUT sometimes it does matter.

Some step-less clock-speed and voltage settings in the BIOS of nForce-based boards and enhanced performance profiles/presets, IIRC. PSUs with SLI-ready branding (not to confuse with ESA-marked PSUs), and now that's real marketing crap.

Ohhh...

I had always assumed SLI was simply adopted by dual channel kits because more people understand the meaning of SLI than dual channel. Furthermore even if you have no clue, SLI sounds fast, it sounds cutting edge, it sounds good. SLI GFX cards makes a difference, Dual channel RAM makes about 1% difference in a benchmark, but stick "SLI" on it... so yet another ploy by marketing...
