The developers aren't the problem. The problem is the publisher pulling the plug on updates. The games only get a few months of updates before they're cut off completely (typical AAA pattern). Considering the popularity and longevity of the games, the publisher should pay a few developers to stay on the game patching bugs users find but, no, they pull them all off to work on the next thing. The games are left with 1000s of known bugs.
