BF2142 image not working anymore

I made an image of BF2142 a while ago (off of a legitamate disc) with Alcohol 52% and would mount the image with Alcohol instead of dicking around with changing the game discs out all the time. However, for some reason it doesn't work anymore. It is very odd because all I did was download the newest version of Alcohol 52% and install that. How is it possible that the newer version doesn't work as well as the older?

okay... in 32-bit XP, my image file does not work. In 64-bit XP, it does. Same image, same program, hell same version of said program... but it doesn't work in 32-bit.

Yes, I have. It's irrelevant now anyway. For some reason mounting the image of the BF2142 disc works in 64 bit xp but not in 32 bit. I was using Alcohol 52%

it is basically Alcohol 120% without the Burning capabilities

Why dont you try a no cd patch? it is easier and legal provided you own the game!

Making an image of the game disc is legal as well. I'd rather have the image around because I can install from the image. My 2142 disc came fucked up with scratches out of the box and doesn't always install, sometimes it errors out. It's not really easier cause most websites where you get no-cd patches from will load you up with viruses without you knowing. On top of that, using a no cd patch will only get you kicked for having modified content.

well if you know where to get a reliable one then try it out, but it might be something to do with the disk security on XP32

That may be so, but it doesn't apply to me anymore. I'm not moving from xp x64 for a long time... I hope I can keep this install going for as long as I can without fucking it up somehow or going through a major hardware change
