Bored with gaming.

Haven't gotten much into playing Batman: Arkham Asylum on Steam, might just continue playing that.

Bad Company 2 was crashing me back to desktop with no errors, so i stopped with that for a while. Im now reinstalling it in hopes it fixes the issue.:)

I'm still waiting for the heavy hitters, Rage, Metro: Last Light, Serious Sam 3:BFE, Half Life 2 Episode 3(im really excited for this game, hurry up Gabe!!), Saints Row The Third.

Thats a PB issue I bet.

I have not read the thread, but I'll say two things. Games are not as good as they used to be, so there's that. And Good for you.

Never thought of that, not sure how i would go about fixing a punkbuster issue though:ohwell:. I'm really hoping this reinstall does it.

FREAKY! Last night for me too :D Great minds and all that shit ;)

I'm actually enjoying it more this time around :D

PS: I was that bored with gaming that I took up MMA 6 months ago lol....focusing more on Brazilian Jiu Jitsi though now....it gets my lazy ass off the sofa I suppose :D

I think its a thing when people hit a certain age, maybe my generation will be gaming forever.
A good game needs to grip me, has always been that way. I never play filler.

EDIT: I used to get the urge to punch the monitor/tv when i was gaming but now i just say fuck this game and never play it again.

Got a few games in interested in, Forza 4 for a start! Cant wait for Battlefield 3 and Mass effect 3 either. Trust me there is always a down time, you either give up gaming altogether or it comes in peaks and troughs.

I get bored with it off and on.

much of the time there's plenty of other crap to do so whether or not I want to is irrelivent.

60 hours a week at work, countless others dedicated to futhering education, a wife, 2 kids, and financial trouble all say that gaming is a waste of time atm.

but that might just be the natural transition of aging. I mean all the guys who got me into pc gaming haven't built a rig in 10 years at least.

Don't worry, Deus Ex: Human Revolution is out in a few weeks ;)

I see HookeyStreet thanked this post. This pretty much tells me the game will be another worthless console port. lol.

That said, mod your car and go drag racing mailman. That shit is way more fun than gaming (but also more expensive).

I've played it for the PC, it's a Console port, but still very fun.

We need a new system killer to get us benching again, at least.

Yeah right...!
We waited 4 years for Crysis 2 to put our systems to their knees and what we got...a nice story but on the upper left corner said API = D3D9 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
When DX11 came out every1 lost interest...
Anyway I'm 29 and the only game I dedicate at least 1 hour a day is AVA(Alliance of Valiant Arms)which is FREE:eek:
Have installed :FEAR 3(hate it when they call it F3AR),DIRT 3,Bullestorm,Duke Nukem,Crysis 2 but I don't play any of this anymore...
Remember a while back playing Ninja Gaiden Black...finished it twice and I'll never forget that game...
Anyway waiting on MW3 for story and BF3 for graphics...

You're not the only one. I've just about lost interest in all of my games now. I have 90+ games on steam but only two of them are installed for when I'm at work and bored (play steam off an external hdd). I've also got every console, with a TON of games.

I basically stick to the classics now, because all the new games blow. It's all about fancy graphics and DLC now. No gameplay at all, nothing is original or intriguing. I don't ever play a video game and feel emotion like I used to. Growing up, it was like.. Metal Gear Solid, Silent Hill, Resident Evil, Final Fantasy, Legend of Dragoon, Parasite Eve, Legend of Zelda (all games before Twilight Princess), Super Mario 64..

I own all the classic Resident Evil titles, 1-3 on PSX, the Remake for GameCube, Zero for GameCube, outbreak file 1 and 2, etc. I play those a lot, because I'm a huge fan of the Resident Evil universe (Everything before 4 and 5 and the gay railshooters on Wii). Even with the Resident Evil games, I only play one game maybe once a week or so. I'm doing other things now that I never did growing up like taking interests in fitness, cooking from scratch, reading (I hated reading up until about a few months ago, now I looove it).

It's just part of growing up for me. I used to be addicted to WoW and I quit in January, then Feb 1st 2011, started a new lifestyle regime and lost 75 pounds in 6 months, lol. Once I stopped playing WoW I realized how little of a "hardcore gamer" I thought I was. Growing up when the GOOD games were still being made, I used to stay up all night and game with friends, and talk about it, etc. All of that is gone now. Video games have gone down hill for me, across all platforms.

That's why, for the past few months I've been slowly building my collection of classic games that I mentioned earlier, so I'll always have the classics that made me interested in video games. I was stupid and sold all of my PSX/N64/SNES stuff, so I'm building that back up slowly.

I have a sealed copy of Resident Evil: Director's cut dual shock edition (black label). I started collecting about 8 months ago.

I'm very jelly.

I still need to buy a hard copy of Resident Evil 1 and 3, I bought them on the PSN, but not owning the manuals and cases and CD's just isn't the same.

I have a black label near mint condition (books cd and case) of Resident Evil 2, it's epic.

On the back of the case is a free hotline number you can call Capcom if you get stuck with a puzzle or something lol

I'm curious to see what would happen if I called it now. It's probably not in service anymore.. but damn. That's some awesome customer service right there.

I always manually update PB anytime I reinstall BC2, anytime I haven't I just get kicked from games.

I reinstalled but after a round of playing i got a BSOD (pfn_list_corrupt), so im now not sure what's wrong.:(

Me, I play BBC2 for about 10 mins, then get bored. The only thing that I can play for more than half a hour is WoW

Well if it is sign of getting old guess I'm still a kid at heart. I never play for hours on end though. I play one good round maybe 2 and I'm done. Here lately I have been playing every night , but there are times I only play maybe twice a week. BFBC2 being the main game, periodically MOH or Fear2, but yeah the rest are pretty much a bore. I like Metro , but my eye sight sucks in Dark games so it hasn't been holding my interest much. About half way done and probably won't finish it because it is so damn long and dark.
Like you MM I enjoy hunting and shooting, but it cost to much in gas to go where there is good shooting range and as far as hunting the Wolves have chased out the Elk in the area I hunt in. Hoping now they opened up wolf hunting that will bring them back. I do like Football though so I'm just waiting for that to start.

I feel the same way.

It seems like only a few years ago the latest game releases made me drool. Bioshock, Mass Effect, Dragon Age, and so many more.

Now it seems as though sequels tongue the bottom of the acceptability bin, new games might as well be sequels, and people are willing to settle for the safe status quo. It's hard to feel anything but apathy.

That said, it seems like there are some gems incoming. Skyrim should be a good time sink, as well as the various sequels (actually looking forward to Mass Effect finally ending). Here's hoping some liquid win washes out the taste of utter apathy.

I think it is part age for me as well, but I know that it is also part of the game quality like I mentioned earlier.

I am adding an afterthought. We have a mass of glitched up and almost unplayable games released these days as well. Unfortunately those tend to be games that look like they would have kept my interest.

I've been more interested in hardware, than gaming, which is kinda like having ferraris and not driving. Sucks dude

I've been installing a crapload of games due to an extra 1TB HDD which all my games are going on. If anything this 1TB HDD is going to keep all my games installed.
I'm 32 and still want to buy more games. Of course having a new computer which I built and has worked since the 5th is motivation for that. Still need a dedicated graphics card and new monitor.
