Software talking abt best software, autodesk/unity3d/notepad yes notepad!!
Benchmark Scores theres nothing to brag abt potato, but it can run decent 30fps fullhd with good setting:)
i know this card is hotplate, just wonder if i can get better temp on it, i alr sweep the dust, now is run better but still on 85c, any idea to cooling this abit, if not i wont keep it becouse it seems pretty dangerous heh

this the best so far, before cleanup it even hit 90c+

oh yea i wonder if i can flash bios to non oc bios would help give me better temp, i would happy if this card can run on 75c or so thx adv:)

What are you running the fan speed on it at? Also case closed or open when testing?? :)

I had my 480 Strix running at 40C under a full load with a few tweaks of clock speeds and a bit of voltages :) Made a slight difference to the wattage pull too....

You can always downclock or better yet, undervolt it.

Undervolt + MX-4 + no dust and good case airflow and you should drop to 80C

yes i hear undervolt is good solution both performance and temp, someone told me to get my previous vega56 for better perform rather ocing it, i forgot it, i think i posted here somewhere, sadly i just dont have time to learn how to do so hehe, thx for tips guys

40c is unbelievable , i think i need give more attention about tweaking undervolt or whatever is, will slowly learn and try it later thx
a manual setup 87% fan give me better temp, stil thats imposible to get 70c hehe

well its better than nothing:D

Did you put fresh thermal compound on?

What about a washer mod?

Yeah, undervolting the highest boost state will help a great deal. I had a Nitro+ 480, and dropping the voltage not only helped it run cooler, but it stayed at the max boost clock most of the time.

Do you guys undervolt automatically or manually? Asking for my 5700XT

+1 for the undervolt.

Wasn't sure at first but ever since I've tried it I did not look back and I think I wouldn't use any AMD card w/o undervolt now.

Only undervolted the highest 'gaming' phase to a stable ammount.
My RX 570 had issues with its boost clock speed and this fixed it + it runs cooler 'under 70c' too with just a fixed 40% fan speed.

no i havent replace it, too scare to do it myself, pc case cooling fans might be temporary solution, i think i should go for better case, plan to get expensive one, like cube coolermaster:)

Manually....I personally still prefer to use MSI afterburner instead of AMD global Wattman it's just easier or maybe I just get use to it....Also @potato58+ use the manually fan settings and set your curve,if you ask me I will put the MAX fan somewhere around 60c-65c.....GL

I said I was a tweaker :D

So basically, I found where the card stepped down it's clock speeds and voltages, then just made sure the fan was on at a reasonable level and off we went :) It was when we where mining so they weren't on for 5 minutes and I recorded the temps :) Even during the very hot months, I don't think I saw more than 50C...

+1 for MSI Afterburner.. As @Zyll Goliath mentioned, I think it's a better thing to use as well. Put a game or benchmark in Windowed mode (I think Heaven or Valley would be perfect for this) and then let the test run and just lower the voltage of the card down. These AMD cards do tend to have a bit more voltage than they need so lowering it down will probably make the biggest difference :)

Give us a shout through the thread or Skype or whatever :)

okey i think i got plenty times today, times for try this, what should i start for, will see video guide now, i will do it after at home :rockout:
edit: i think is best to do easier way first, learn how to do fans setup curve porbably best

+1 for undervolting with afterburner, I have a 580 in my image processing rig which I sometimes play the latest games on and it never gos above 65c.

This is how I keep my core voltage and OC settings for my RX 480 and also my Fan curve....

oh okey thx, i will try make a setup clone, anyway whats your model of card?
oh i see your system you have same card as mine, i yink your setup will do fine thx:toast:

nitro is different story, regadless its one of faster model but have good temp indeed, performance&cooler both dominated by nitro hehe

now you see the thing that controls the heat on your gpu is the voltage which it draws so no matter which card you have you will decrease the temp by undervolting and in a lot of cases if you up the fan curve you run out of fan before you get the temps under control.

Cooler is better, however, these cards are ok running at that speed. I wouldn't change a thing unless noise was bothering me.

okey so this is what it looks like

its abit different, i cant find powerlimit option, am i missing something?

You need to go on Settings(in afterburner)and then unlock the voltage control and unlock the voltage monitoring
sas1.jpg

Anyway....with settings like this and with the Fan curve set to blow at max if temps past 60c my cards almost never surpass 68c-70c.....and yeah I keep my case side closed but I did change GPU paste 6-7 month ago and I keep GPU&CASE fairly clean.....

Press the right mouse button on your desktop/AMD Radeon Settings/Gaming/Global Settings/Global Wattman and Then Accept overclocking.....after that reset MSI Afterburner and then try it again
