Ok, I am going to flash the pro, but I have some questions.

1. Should the old drivers be uninstalled?

2. I use ati-flash right?

3. How can I save my old bios, and do I even need to?

reinstall the drivers after the flash

Yes that is the tool, make a boot disk and add that file along with the new bios.

save your original bios with this
http://www.techpowerup.com/vgabios/BIOS_Saver.exe

download your new bios your goin to use to flash with and rename it to 2900xt.bin

type this in dos to flash it

atiflash -p 0 -newbios 2900xt.bin -f

so jc, you finally got the balls to flash it, good job, and good luck :) with damulta guiding you, you shouldn't have any problems :)

Your going to boot into windows on 2/d clocks so you should only see a problem if there is going to be one when you run a 3/d app.

ok, just so I am clear on this. It should look like this

atiflash.exe -f -p newbios1.bin

atiflash -p 0 -newbios 2900xt.bin -f

0 as in zero

you don't need to type in exe

You might be able to mix up the -p -f different ways. I read that -newbios transfers the new voltage settings.

good luck jc.

Back. Success. 2900XT.

my stock one card

Your memory is much higher than mine. My stock memory is 828. It shows just how CPU dependant these things are.

I am at 3.4, and I have 1000 points on you and your memory is clocked higher. You need a better CPU damulta

hahahah. Kickass. I have wanted to see what those things can do.

congrats on the purchase. now if only i was rich enough to afford mad expensive systems like yours :'(
