Crysis doesn't push PC to it's limit?!!?

Games such as crysis have cpu tasks that are totally seperate from the gpu side of things. There would be no point in coding to make use of the cpu either, as the average gamer has say a 2.4ghz amd dual core or 1.86ghz c2d. By the time the game finished calculating the cpu only tasks, there would be little time left for helping out the gpu, and thats not even mentioning the latencies involved with it. with best performance for most.

So you're trying to explain that Crysis was designed with the AVERAGE PC user in mind? As if the average user has an 8800 Ultra SLI Overclocked with water cooling?

Why do you even want it to run your cpu to the max? Its not like it needs to do it? If its able to run at a speed where it feels smooth, then you dont need to use more power to get more fps.

It's not a smooth framerate until it's 50+. Guarantee UT3 will be optimized.

i cant wait to laugh at this kids face once the game in a NON BETA CODE is released
stop complaing about fuckin demos you should be happy its bogged down once you can hit 60fps maxed it will look sick they left room for newer hardware they didnt limit themselves to the current hardware. look at far cry when it came out it was ahead of most hardware avaliable. ea might be the publisher but they didnt write the code

This thread is stupid. The CPU isn't maxed out all the time because it's not always being asked to do omfgwtf physics processing with all four cores - it's just not required. And when it's not doing that, it basically just twiddles its thumbs and smiles happily. Crysis, for the next three years, is GPU bound - FACT!

Also, how do you mean UT3 "instead" of Crysis? These games aren't similar, one isn't a replacement for the other. Plus, UT3 looks like ass...

ES I agree totally with v-zero could someone just delete this thread

Crysis baby:toast: :rockout:

Actually, its nearly twice that amount, as far as theoretical limit of the human eye is cornered. Sure, many people can't see the difference after you pass 30fps or so, so it doesn't matter... well to those people that can't see the difference.

I read through this thread and IMO agree with the OP. If you lower the settings down and decrease the res to 800x600 or something similar and don't get a decent hit from your CPU then the demo isn't fully utilizing your CPU. However, it's a demo and it's possible that certain optimizations were left out (although I find it hard to believe for a demo over 1 gig but anything is possible). It would be best to wait until the retail version is released to see if this still hold true.

The OP isn't the only person who's mentioned optimization problems about this game before. Other's have discussed this subject as well. However, it is a demo and for what it's worth does represent the final product. Although others wish to re-label this demo as a beta (do to optimization discussions) there is no evidence to support this assumption at this time.

crysis used all my cores 100% :P 1 cpu and 1 gpu and 1 spu
