Does TPU use Google-Tracking?

I'm on my phone, so can't verify, but it sure looks like they are using javascript to me. Maybe not 'malicious', but that scrolling bar at the top of the page sure makes me think they are using javascript.
Virtually every site uses JS these days, most break without JS. I'm always making an effort for TPU to gracefully degrade without JS, so that you can still use it. I'm also intentionally supporting older, insecure, versions of HTTPS, so that people with Windows XP and older and old smartphones can load the site to read up on things for their troubleshooting

I actually allow ads when I visit this site
<3 all our ads are in-house, no tracking, no bs. I've written the ad server software myself

is free of ads
Honest question, how do you think I buy the food that I eat?

My brother tries and insist on not using Google, then calls me asking how he can backup all the photos on his phone ? Typical Unplug from the internet, it's the only way to be sure
Beforeyou quit google you must find alternatives first, obviously. There's plenty FLOSS alternatives out there.
google search - searxng
google chrome - librewolf/mullvad/mull/cromite
google maps - https://duckduckgo.com/Map?ia=web&iaxm=maps or openstreetmap
google play - fdroid
google android - AOSP/lineage/graphene
google drive - local backup
gmail - tutanota or protonmail
youtube - invidious
the list goes on ...
feels like brainrot to me that people still use native youtube.com from google without an adblock and then complain about the ads.

Ads aren't really a big deal, it's the tracking to identify individuals.
If i disable ublock for TPU that means googletagmanager will also be unblocked, not feeling comfortable doing that.
You tell me a way to allow ads on TPU without unblocking google i have no problems doing that.

I assume you pay the grocery store by benchmarking their cash registers.

You can add a custom filter that allows our ads, let me figure out the exact steps

googletagmanager
I looked into this a bit and we'll be switching to https://plausible.io/ for our analytics, using our own installation of their open-source version on our own servers.

Ok so, open the uBlock logger

Then click the reload icon in the logger, you should now see a list of rules&requests, red and yellow ones are of interest to us

I marked the three ones that block our in-house ads with arrows
Select each one and click the circled icon

Reload the page and you should see our ads, but Google Analytics stays blocked

lmk if you need more details

@Mandolo

would it be bad of me to say i don't care, i don't mind at all there welcome to it.

funny thing is last saturday we had a nice curry but the trouble is curry gives me the wind, the next day edge was trying to sell me wind tablets and cure's , i kinda think that's cool.

I did no expect that. A honorable decision!

Clear lack of education, i recommend Permanent Record by Edward Snowden and 1984 George Orwell.

Or use:

Is it worth it to use the older versions? Are there that many old machines that access TPU? Honest question because I am curious.

Modern browsers will always use the newest SSL they support, so nothing lost .. other than some emails from "security searchers" that ran a script on the whole internet in the hope for $$ for bug bounty or consulting

NoScript is a bliss.

Please, unblock TechPowerUp, @Mandolo . There are other sites, that potentially need block, but not this one IMO.
Agreed, TPU is one of the few websites I don't block ads on. The ads are non-intrusive and reasonable. If the ads are not disrupting my browsing experience, I don't have a problem with them. Most sites don't know how to advertise without autoplay video clips or banner ads that cover their content.

I disagree, I think it's creepy. We get advertised to constantly now, you cannot get away from ads. There needs to be a limit somewhere. The ones that really bother me, are when you get an advertisement for something you didn't search for but had been talking about with someone. My wife and I have considered trying some controlled experiments to find the source/s. My money is on Android devices, but we both have been on Apple phones now for a few years...

cool, we all think diff bud. i like to worry about worse problems like all this means shit if we kill the planet and how many kids are being wipe out just for a few peoples folly.

Good on you, I bet I would be a lot happier if I could do the same.

Good on you
your right about Add's tho, ive found a way to beat them i never buy anything i see in a add unless i have great need of it. that's the way my Aspie brain thinks of it, it sorta makes me think i winning :).

Nah, it's not about something lost, I was just curious how many old OS and browser are accessing TPU.

like 1 or 2%, but that won't help you if you're sitting on a Windows XP machine and want to run GPU-Z, or want to know which GPU to buy on an old Android phone

would it be feasible to have a semi-hidden domain like tls.techpowerup.com or something that does not/cannot downgrade tls? like, im pretty sure there's nothing to be gained from doing a tls downgrade attack against tpu, but ...
