DOOM: The Dark Ages Performance Benchmark

I’m hear for the crashouts. I’m basically playing it on gamepass at 1080p with a 6800XT Ultra nightmare w/ framegen, no upscale, and I’m going to have a blast. Peace out.

DOOM: The Dark Ages Performance Benchmark Review

  • We used the recommended review drivers for the game from both AMD and NVIDIA, which are game-ready, and the newest driver from Intel.
  • Please note that the NVIDIA driver (576.40) that we used is newer than the first press driver for the game (576.31). The new build includes performance

The bold color text on dark theme like here W1z should absolutely fix... or not we're lucky to finally have a dark theme at all.

You can see it that way. You can also see it as Nvidia bribing game developers to optimise for their technology to gain an unfair advantage. Take your pick.
Can we stop with the "ngreedia bribing"? That's proven to not be true again and again. Nvidia sponsored games run better on AMD than non nvidia sponsored games. Check the freaking poster child of nvidia, cyberpunk. It runs faster on AMD hardware than your average game does (im talking about raster performance).

You know what's bribing? Seeing much slower amd cards be much faster than nvidia cards because it's an amd sponsored game. Dirt 5 - ac valhala - starfield, and the list goes on and on, where a gpu that is 2 tiers down matches gpu 2 tiers up. That is not the case with nvidia sponsored games.

AMD's bribing, Nvidia's bribing, everyone's bribing... I'm not on about that stuff. What I wanted to say is whether you use the word "bribing" or "helping developers create the best gaming experience" is your choice, and you would be equally right.

Let's not turn this into an AMD vs Nvidia flame war, please. I'm so tired of that childish shit.

Are you really tired of it? You said the below like 12 hours ago...
Nvidia fans every time a new game comes out: "Boo hoo, AMD doesn't have day 1 drivers!"

Look at the situation now.

He clicks like on every post that craps on nvidia, so I assume he is tired of people not crapping on nvidia.

The RX6600/6600XT don't handle this game very well, huh? (even on 1080p Med, going by HWU's results) Guess it's time to ditch my 6650XT soon. A lot of games have come out since I got the card, but this is the first one that I really want to play where turning down settings won't cut the mustard.

I find Windows 11 Professional 64-bit 24H2 and previous versions very very unstable with constant Blue Screens.
I am back to Windows 10 Pro 64-bit & its stable, not one BSOD, no game crashes no nothing.

Am I missing something here? Why is it only testing on the highest setting

That's the standard method for benchmarking. It means an even playing field for all GPUs. And the review notes that turning down settings only provides a ~20-30% boost.
