I realized on a certain quest line last night that the pics I've seen of people wearing those enchanted armored masks aren't necessarily...

Dragon Priest masks from the Main Quest...the one you get from the boss in Labyrinthian who has the staff you need to save the college looks similar. Thus there may be others too. Note I have not gotten to the Dragon Priest part of Main yet so comment/spoiler appropriately, thanks.

Yeah I'm not sure if they have their seperate quest line, but I sure enjoy getting them.

Probably. There are so many nice fixes and improvements both visual and otherwise that it doesn't make a whole lotta sense to play pure vanilla on a good PC.

I haven't come across any issues that needed fixing, and I guess I don't care for the graphics so much, they were good enough. Deleted it now anyway, going to forget it and then come back to it.

Seconded on the vanilla. I've completed everything but the recurring quests. I've got more than a few that say I haven't completed them, but I have. I've had a few derp moments, including backward flying dragons. I've had more than a few crashes to desktop.

Despite all of this, it's still more stable than Fallout 3 was at patch 3. People tend to forget Bethesda's track record...


That said, I want to pick the game back up in a few months, and mod the crap out of it. Considering I'll be upgraded on the processor and graphics side, and there will be more than enough mods, I'm going to try and wait until the improvements are overwhelming. Not to mention the level cap is higher. Level 81 with everything at 100 is not enough perks. I want to be a spell-sword that can craft everything they need (read: perfect adventurer), and not have to rely on the derp followers AI.

Yeah I hear you about the graphics being really good (impressive what they did with this not-really-new-engine) but then I would install mods and realize how much better it can be. Most definitely worth the time and effort to mod for a second playthrough, including things like sharpening it up with FXAA injector.

I played through with vanilla settings and I thought the game was brilliant. Now I'm going through it again but adding mods as I go along. It just increases the experience with the game. Plus, if you have the PC to do it, why not make things better?

I might try a few and see if the change in AA/AF (I'm running 8x AF, 4AF morphological, all high quality settings and tuned to almost ultra settings) and other draw distances makes a difference in the reality feel and look of the game.

Yeah the "size of Great Britain" however much is randomly generated as I understand it so not quite "the same thing".

Also it's not the size that matters, it's how fast you can travel across those maps. Some of the larger games out there don't seem as larger as some of the smaller ones because of that.

I only have about 5 mods installed because i wanted some vanilla content. Then erockler was like thats cool you want to play with console textures. Then i realized that basically if the game wasnt so consollized graphics wise it would look like what a lot of the mods are making the game look like. So why not load up on the mods to make it what ti should be like on the PC.

no i know. but what crazy is saying that that since the poly count is so low on almost everythign in the game then sometimes hi res textures go to waiste. I dont think theres any poly increasing mods.

I just downloaded Killer Keos Skimpy armor mod. Perfect for me because there's no nakedness (kid likes to watch me play!), the high texture armor resolutions would still work because it's a mesh mod. And they look good:

The Forsworn have the skimpiest one, you'd imagine the top getting dislodged in battle.. but obviously it won't happen... :

Now I just need to find a male equivalent. It sucks that modders make so many mods for females, and very few for males...

dont worry BP male body versions will appear in due time,

AlienSlof hasnt released anything yet but is well known for making skimpy armors for male characters for the female gamers out there.
right now seems he hasnt been modding much but a lack of CS is most likely why.

That would make sense if there was that much game play changing mods out there, but there isn't. I don't count textures as replacing vanilla content, I consider content actual content (quests and places to explore), mods right now have very little effect on those things, and will continue to have little effect till the CS lands. It's why I loaded up all the texture packs I could right away, because it didn't change the actual game at all, just made it look better.
