why do alerts disappear after a few days even if i havent read them? why do they disappear at all? sometimes i would want a reference link from a month ago (yes even if there is a cut off of 10 or 20 entries, it shouldnt delete them after a few days)

My problem is the opposite, sometimes I never get alerted to a post in a thread. Even if I know I'm subbed. It happens with threads pre move as well as some new ones.

Same for me, some I have posted in so auto subbed and then all of a sudden at some point I stumble across the thread again to find it's had 3 pages added without alerts.

this has happened to me as well, i've lost email subscriptions to a few threads.

Is there a way you can implement auto editing of a previous post in a thread if you were the last one to actually post in it? This way it removes the ability to multi-post. MMO-Champion has this feature and it's a godsend. You post. Quote someone else and post by mistake instead of editing the previous, and the site recognizes you were the last poster so it just auto edit's your new post into your last post.

So many times lately I have been looking at threads and someone posts 4-5 times in a row without editing their initial thread just because they dont know how to use the multi-quote button.

there have been times we dont want it enabled, such as when people create a thread and want a 'stickied' second post (think user reviews, etc) - but i'm starting to think we need this as well, even it its just a prompt asking to merge or not.

The prompt would work. At least it saying "your post will be merged with your previous." Then got click ok and it merges. If you give people the option of no they will click it without reading.

All of the threads say 0 views on the Reviews forum.

This is what I'm seeing. It's only 0 views on the Reviews forum and normal on all other forums. I see the same from home and work computers whether as a guest or logged in. I tried messing around with the views tab but it still says 0 views on every thread. I guess no one else sees it so it's probably nothing.

I had a look and it's the same for me, 0 views but they all have replies.

Should ban you for multiple accounts :D

I like the prompt idea! Seems like it could work much the same as the necro-thread prompt/warning.

but instead of yes/no buttons dub them mirge/dobule post
and note should be something like "are you sure you want to double post"

I'm getting PHP parse errors when attempting to post through AJAX:
<b>Parse error</b>: syntax error, unexpected ')' in <b>/home/techpowerup/www/forums/library/TPUDetectSpamReg/ModelSpamPrevention.php</b> on line <b>192</b><br />

I think someone needs to check their PHP syntax before pushing code into production. :)

Since I can post again, it has clearly been fixed.

If you ignore someone you still can see their name in Members Online Now. Is it normal?

yes I think so, you just don't see any of their posts (and therefore threads they have started) and they cannot message you.

its not like a facebook block - it just stops messaging and hides their posts.

The main TPU page is very slow to load and open.
And, the page loads incorrectly... the welcome back "so and so" , New forum posts, Popular reviews, Latest VGA drivers, and Controversial News Posts are at the bottom of page with no graphics, just placeholders.

Tried with Edge browser, IE11, and Opera.
Reset TCP/IP, flushed DNS, renewed connections and still the same.
No trouble with other sites.

working fine here in chrome, front page is fast and loading correctly.
