I'm not getting a 5870 until theres a 5870 2GB version and its 299$

I've only ever payed over 400$ once for a video card and I will not repeat that again. (it was a X1900XTX)

I'm assuming that's simple binning on reference cards they get, but worth something - though a 16% price diff for a 6% OC leaves the head scratching.

There is soooo much price gouging going on, fueled by demand (not necessity - though that's a point to debate!)

......same here, I will also wait tell they sort this supply issuse out and prices drop back down. Not going to pay msrp + the premiums they are all asking for now.
Even though these are great cards, I'll just keep running my 4890 for a while longer..

As much as I'd love one (or two), I can't justify replacing my 4890's just yet.

Although, the availability issues + sky high prices helped a lot with that decision

and it was 409.99 then 419.99 and then 429.99 within three minutes. These retailers are assholes and are unethical. I'm selling my 5770 and buying a geforce card fxxck ati. I haven't been pissed like this in a long time. Geforce was always expensive but they never ever jumped prices like this.
