I used to play this on Game Pass before I cancelled, but will probably buy it if it goes on sale. Do you still have to do the practice lap?

No, practice can be skipped now. Do you race online?

I feel like Forza needs more love now. Still full of bugs and glitches but I can't put it down

Please people, if you have gamepass or bought it and haven't played in ages, it really is good when you are racing
Maybe I'll try coming back to it, but I can't get over the handling model. The cars just feel like they don't have any grip no matter what you drive. Also, the lack of Steam Deck compatibility is a letdown for me. It's a shame, because there are some cool cars in that game that I'd otherwise enjoy driving (I have a bit of a thing for early-2000s Euro trash, like the Mercedes-Benz C32 AMG).

I came back to Forza Motorsport last night after playing some AMS2. The handling was better than I thought. The graphics quality still wasn't amazing; the game looked quite blurry. The performance looked good on paper, but it felt stuttery. It wasn't undrivable, though; I think I might be a better driver than when I tried it last. I did an apples-to-apples comparison with the BMW M1 Procar (one of the best-sounding cars IMO) at Kyalami. AMS2 sounded better and the force feedback was better, but I feel that Forza Motorsport is probably easier to learn. A thing that differentiated the games for me was the high-speed Sunset corner: I could take it at around 80 MPH in AMS2, but in Forza I could take it at 90 MPH.
I also have a suggestion for getting proficient with a new car and/or track: take the whole course in 4th gear for several laps to perfect your racing line.

If you mean multiplayer, no. Only SP because of MP tossers.
In fact, it's 50% off at Steam at the moment so I may be able to grab it for the local price of $17. But I'm investigating if I can migrate my Game Pass progress over to Steam.

Fujima or what the frikkin heck it's called looks absolutely stunning. The main complaint that I have for the moment is that for the past 3 months at least, there's a bit of stutter even when it shouldn't be.

Hm, I think I'll just take my Austin Healey and enjoy the sights (without someone bumping me over, I hope...).

Yeah, I'm playing it on DLAA setting, otherwise it's quite a mess. And don't laugh about my Austin, it's a beautiful car!!!

Anyway between AMS2, ACC and Forza my poor wheel isn't quite happy...(who would've think of that, right???)

That's been my attitude toward Forza in recent years. I don't really care about online racing because there is often little to no variety as far as cars. Besides, I like my cars

I'm not laughing about the car; I'm laughing about the ramming joke that's all too accurate.

Speaking of - just wandering around in my Alpine, to level it up (in Meetups, so no race to speak of). Lo and behold, an M1 just kissed my bottom, because why not...

You don't need to level up your car! If you have some credits, just put the parts on your car and attempt to backout. It should come up saying you don't have enough car levels and would you like to buy it instead. Say yes and car is upgraded

Say no and enjoy the view!!!

Drives nice, and very pretty

I Like Forza but please give me real Race Cars with proper liveries.

I grabbed the Premium Edition and all my progress from when I played it on Game Pass was carried over, so that's a result :)
Being an arcade racer fan and Forza Horizon being much more forgiving, this is more serious racing and I'm loving it.
My RX 5700 XT on the other hand is being pushed to the limit, but it's supremely playable at around 72 fps at medium settings on 1440p.
Nürburgring at night...

The Fujimi Kaido track in the 20th Anniversary update is brilliant, but one lap is quite enough because it can make your head spin.
Another nice addition is the rear-view mirror!

I spent 4 hours trying to get a clean lap in my E class Mini. I'll find the brake pedal one day lol

Challenge accepted. My trick for learning new cars and/or tracks is to stay in 4th gear the whole lap and focus on my line and braking zones. It works like a charm for me.

I tried the new track last night with the 2010 BMW M6, the 2022 Toyota GR86 (my pfp), and the 1979 BMW M1 Procar. The track does look good, but the performance is not good. It's also a bit too windy for my taste, especially given my opinion on drifting ;). I personally prefer tracks like Cadwell Park. I haven't done a full lap yet, but I'll try and get one in in the GR86 since it's a very light and agile car. The BMW is definitely faster in a straight line with its V10, but it feels a bit heavy in the corners.

The only thing that hacks me off is that the drivatars stick to the road like glue, seemingly taking corners faster than I can. I steer with the direction keys on my keyboard and always have done. It's a bit jerky which can lead to oversteer, then it's game over :(
I'm a bit reluctant to invest in a wheel because my PC is also for work...

Get a Xbox controller or something compatible, it's way better than keyboard and cheaper than a proper wheel and pedals set in that case.
