Just wanted to share that my Epic account was stolen over the weekend. Epic is completely useless as well. I'm not exactly sure how they ganked it but it was pretty simple and Epic's system facilitates this type of shit. All this 2 factor crap and no warning to the actual account holder. I mainly used my epic account for the free games, can't recall if I ever actually bought anything but tbf I fundamentally avoided buying on Epic.
Anyways, watch out yall. Apparently this is a VERY common thing on Epic. And Epic helps you out by essentially freezing victims out of support, hiding their support accounts, and you can't contact them w/o logging into your account lmao!

Yea, in the future I'd be very wary of buying anything on Epic. There is no recourse if you get ganked. I did a lot of searching, there are not many success stories. One guy on reddit said he contacted them thru email and got his account back in two days. Poster never returned to show actual proof or said email in question. This shit is just too slimey. If it was steam crap like this would not fly.

Yea I do like my op mentioned. But it's meaningless when the ganker does it in the middle of the night and you're asleep like I was. The thing you have to realize is Epic has an automated recover your account if you lost access to the email portal. It's totally fucked up. All one needs to know is the email address of said account you want to gank. Do it in the middle of the night before the account owner realizes and you can take over any account.

Yea, I was flabbergasted. I sat around thinking about how it was done and then it was right there. You can recover any account with just the email address. All one needs to do is search the epic accounts vs email address after the last couple epic hacks. You can buy these lists online lmao.

In my case the email and 2factor code was sent to me at 2am on Sun. The emails were in spam and the sms text I didn't see till the morning, same with email later. It still transferred my account lmao. That's when I found the recover account BS. You only need to know the email of said account and I suspect it sends email/2factors out to old address/phone and new email. And voila, poof its gone like Keyser Soze. The ridiculous thing on top is their whole system hides the new email from you, so you get an email saying you changed your account email, but it doesn't tell you what the new email is. Thus I can't even track it down any further cuz they hide the destination of the account from you. Insanity.

I was trying to do that exact thing but as I wrote above it hides the new email from you. I found that ironic cuz the ganker has more protection than the original email holder.
