Free Games Thread

You don't need high-end hardware to have fun. :)

I'm currently replaying Half-Life 2, and got to say, even though the graphics are outdated as heck in terms of model detail and texture resolution, facial animations are still top class after 20 years, especially when I look at games like ME: Andromeda, or SW: Outlaws.
They are making an RTX version of HL2. I saw on digital foundry yt.

I hope they'll upgrade the textures and model detail as well. Otherwise it'll be totally pointless.

Dude you win at posting the most free games always and forever.

At least as of a few minutes ago none of the free DLC are showing as available for SGWC. Just as a reminder to anyone reading back who might wish to collect them after they show up.

Several free games available on Amazon Prime, most of which are redeemed via GOG or Epic Games Store:

Shadow of the Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition (Epic Games Store)

Borderlands 2 (Epic Games Store)

Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel (Epic Games Store)

LEGO The Lord of the Rings (GOG)

LEGO Indiana Jones: The Original Adventures

GreedFall - Gold Edition (GOG)

Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor - GOTY Edition (Epic Games Store)

Arcade Paradise (GOG)

There are a few other lesser known titles available on the main page as well

Free to play on Steam until September 9th.

That said, I'll forgo voicing my own thoughts in favor of a simple chart. (Surprisingly high % of active playerbase are Mothers of young boys, if that is at all helpful information.)

I’m playing this on Gamepass it was added a week or so ago? I still play Snowrunner. I like it and don’t. The driving. Physics and wheel friendl(one of the few Logitech TruForce games) they’ve really muddled up the controls on top of adding a lot of cool in theory gear and specialty equipment but gets clunky trying to juggle it against my muscle. memory from Snowrunner
I would definitely say it’s definitely worth a spin if available for a good shakedown if you’re a fan

Sniper Ghost Warrior Contracts is free on Epic currently.

I see the game asking for a GTX 960 and I am like "What? I have seen the same graphics on a Commodore Amiga".
Maybe in 8-bit, not in HD-graphics.
