I'm no NVidia fan, but if thats true thats really nice, although ATI had 512bit bus already and 1GB of GDDR4.

I excpect ATI to come out with 1024bit bus lol, with 4GB of GDDR6 RAM jk obviously

there was a site I seen telling how much video ram crysis uses at certain resolutions with AA enabled elc.. 2gbs would be overkill.. maybe not if your using a 20" monitor thoguh.. I dont remember the site that I seen it on thoguh but for a 24" monitor it used like 700 and something mbs of video ram.

kinda off-topic but you have to remember there wont be any back breaking engines like Crytek in 2008 your more likely to see publishers like Sega, Capcom, EA, THQ, Ubisoft, Activision, Square Enix license the unreal warfare engine 3.0 from Epic Games http://www.unrealtechnology.com/news.php with the likes of the new Americas Army 3.0, Brothers in Arms Hells Highway, Tom Clancys End War, Tom Clancys Rainbow Six Vegas 2, Tom Clancys Splinter Cell: Conviction, Turok plus about two dozen titles for the XBX. So when building a gaming rig for 2008 you should keep that engine as the bar.

Crysis should of been released in 2008.

My answer: ATI. Looking at their X-Mas 2007 sales, irrespective of product categorization.

Those are old and fake. Without a die shrink the diesize will be too big. And all with a TDP below the 8800GTS.

I agree. It being 15-25% lower TDP than the 8800gts is just a false claim, seeing as though it has 1.5gb more memory than MOST cards, 512 bus, and still on 65nm even if its only a rumor.

I by no means implying this is true. However, Nvidia and ATI already have samples of GDDR5

Gadzooks gamers, Samsung just announced what they are calling the world's fastest memory: GDDR5. The new series five, double-data rate memory chip transfers data at a lickity quick 6Gbps -- about 4x faster while using 20% less power than the GDDR3 memory found in modern GPUs and the PS3. Compare that to their 4Gbps GDDR4 chips and you'll understand the fuss. The chips have already been delivered in samples to the likes of NVIDIA and ATI. Samsung expects the series five chips to capture more than 50 percent of the high-end PC graphics market by 2010.

Will we see this in 2008? The nvidian camp believes that G100 will not use GDDR3 nor GDDR4 so that only leaves GDDR5. Is it true? It's just rumors right now IMO. I only hope that R700 uses GDDR5 but we have to wait and see what develops. They've already been given samples but who really knows what that means in the long run...
