My Laptop's GPU (Nvidia MX130) nowadays throttles whenever I play games like Valorant and Dota 2, the sad part is that this laptop is fairly new, I only bought this new laptop 7 months ago.
During the first 4 months of use I was able to play Valorant with all video settings low but with Anti-Aliasing on MSAA 4x while on Dota 2 on Medium Settings, and I was able to play both games with a stable 60 FPS regardless of how long I played (With Charger hooked on the laptop everytime).
But now I've been noticing this around November, my GPU starts to throttle at a low temperature which is 70C, GPU Clocks go down from 900-1100mhz to 405.0mhz and Memory Clock from 400-1252 to 202.5mhz and when it throttles FPS suddenly goes down from 60+fps to 30fps and after a few seconds fps goes back up again and then the process repeats itself again and again while playing the game.
Laptop Specs :
Brand : LENOVO
System Model : 81WA, Ideapad Slim 3 14IMl05
Processor : Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-10210U CPU @ 1.60GHz, 2112 Mhz, 4 Core(s), 8 Logical Processor(s)
System RAM : 8gb
Graphics Card : Nvidia MX130 (Driver Version : 460.89 Latest)
I have tried updating the graphics card to the latest version
I have tried having getting the stock version of the graphics card the day I got the laptop when it was still working good
I also tried a fresh install of my graphics card and removed every piece of the current one using DDU
I have tried downgrading my BIOS to the stock version
I did a full scan for virus using Windows Defender and it didn't find anything suspicious
and.... none of these worked.
My guess is the thermal paste has worn off after 7 months of use?
I have researched a lot regarding this issue and I saw their VRMs burnt off.
Which I hope did not happen in my laptop because it is just new and I use it in my online class.
I have attached a screenshot and Logs from GPUz below.
I also attached a screenshot of my temperature limits.
