Hey everyone, I was searching the Web trying to find some modern, decent graphics horror games with weapons like Condemned but I really can't find much. Please share some if you can.
Cheers.

"The Suffering" springs to mind. You have plenty of weapons and some of the most twisted creatures imaginable. It's older, but it isn't that old.

Thanks guys. It worth mentioning that the games (horror or horror-ish) I played and liked are: Fear 1+2, manhunt, Alan Wake, Condemned, Dead Space (all), Metro (all) and The Forest. I'll try Killing floor it looks promising.
I'm sure someone who like horror games will appropriate this thread.

FEAR 2 and 3 suck, and as seen as he after Condemned your not going have much luck.

Only other that had a habit of making me paranoid was Stalker the original one. Ramp up the difficulty and feel the pain as you try to stay alive wondering what the f*ck is going get you next...

Others you may want to check on

Lucius
Alan Wake

But in the end Condemed was a classy game and to me at least it was one of a kind.

The Suffering has some brutally twisted stuff. Still remember the initial prison scenes with those freak bladed creatures.

Meh. thought I didn't like gameplay as much as the first, 2 & 3 were a thrill ride for me. Maybe I'm just easily amused ;)

Yes this game is THAT F#$KED UP. Child Zombies and babies crying. Creepy stuff. It also happens to be hard as shit. Its not a bad game at all. But like I said it was a bitch to beat. Plot is decent also.

Seriously? Nobody?

Doom.

That was going to be my suggestion, but it might not be useful as I'm not a fan of horror games. Even with the duct tape mod (sticks a flashlight on every gun), I got about as far as Super Turbo Turkey Puncher 3 and then I was done.

Doom, i was sure he said new, and as for Doom 3 that was just lame ass spawns all the time like Clive Barker Jericho game was.

Meh. thought I didn't like gameplay as much as the first, 2 & 3 were a thrill ride for me. Maybe I'm just easily amused ;)

I loved the 1st with the add ons that followed 2 and 3 were just dumb down and they took the tactical out of the game and made them more like cheesy console games although that said they did make them more jumpy but screwed every thing else..

Actually company's try to stay away from it, as it can kill re-playability of a game. That's why UBI came out with lame games like GRAW\Grin as they were set against scripted ai. And forgetting what made games like Ghost Recon such great games.

UBI wanted it that way simply so you could just drop ai on the map and shit would happen but to me it's a total fail every time.

I would not be surprised if most not scripted these days and just have artificial intelligence. Dunno what it has to do with Doom 3 though as the spawns i am on about in that acted more like they were triggers with very basic artificial intelligence. Trigger AI spawn next to you gets old really fast..

Which is why i love OFP\Arma as you can script ai, as most are just place and see what happens.

I am all for scripted games even more so in coop games which is what made GR a even more great game as you could make more fair coop team tournaments.

jericho is fun - its basically a shorter quake with more sadistic zombies. another good one is chronicles of riddick, altho not so much horror, but still dark and eerie.

Lots of good choices alonbl. My two favorites are Doom 3 and the first F.E.A.R. They're about ten years old but they are gems. When I play Doom 3 I turn off all of the lights and crank up the volume. Yes, it's mostly "monster closets" but try playing the game that way for scares. The first F.E.A.R. is very good. One of my favorite tactical weapons of all time is the G2A2 Assault Rifle. Buttery smooth. Bad guys fall pretty quick except the armored. Alma is a different situation altogether. Enjoy.
