4.4gig @ 1.30V on my 4670K but it's struggled a little with temps this summer with those 30+ degree humid days, I think my 3 year old H80i may need replacing/upgrading, probably looking at a 280mm AIO solution and maybe even throw a 4790K in there for good measure.

How fast do you run your CPU when gaming?

So are you assuming every one reading is a gamer, or are you only interested in what the gamers are clocking at?

I don't game and I'm not much into overclocking these days. The motherboard makers have made the process too easy and safe. It is almost fully automated - so where's the challenge? If I want more power, I save my pennies and buy it.

I have a decent (but not exorbitant) graphics card, lots (okay, I went overboard a bit) of RAM with 16GB of DDR4 3000MHz, 850 PRO SSD, a decent quad core CPU, and a decent (but not top end) Z170 motherboard. If there is a bottleneck, it is my in brain.

My 6th Generation i5 6600 runs between 3.3GHz and 3.9GHz, depending on the task(s) being performed at the time. It blow the socks off my old 3rd Generation i7 3770 based computer that is pushed to 4.3GHz. CPU-Z says the i5 is currently running at 3700.3MHz. Oh, and that's with the stock OEM cooler, of course () maintaining 26°C according to CoreTemp.

3960X @ 4.5ghz / 1.3vcore. Runs heavy and smooth. Max overclock is 5ghz or even more but not really economical as it needs high voltage. so I settled with a less aggressive overclock with voltage reduction.

4770k at its stock which is like 3.8-3.9 at boost. I know I'm a lazy OCer. Think last time I OCed a CPU was a 2500k to 4.8GHz.

May OC it soon before I smack the 5960x into my main rig.

I have 3 PCs and 2 laptops I could submit if i was allowed to vote more than once.

Though all but one are stock speeds/stock turbo now. One is undervolted out of those.

My main rig is a champ...runs quiet, stays cool considering the OC on air, and has excellent performance.

4790k @ 4.8 turbo. In my testing I noticed no performance difference in gaming (did not compare benches)...and for over a year ran this CPU stock clocks and undervolted. Then I decided to see what it could do OC-wise and found my best oc-er on air from Has well/DC yet.

The additional cores must be bad. AMD never made a dual core with an l3 cache in that gen the only true duals were the regor cored athlon iis. All of the phenom ii duals and tris were disabled cores on a quad.

i was hopeful but ultimately disappointed. i unlocked Athlons before and was chuffed to bits at the time... ( something for nothing syndrome.....)

Xeon E3-1241 v3 boosts to 3.9.

I managed to OC it to 4.1 stable but I didn't really see any tangible gains so I run it at stock normally.

I tried running at 4.7 but it requires me bumping the voltage up from 1.242 to 1.276 leading to temperatures 79-83c.

Mine needs closer to 1.325v for 4.7 but i can keep it cool.

My i7 6700K runs at stock frequencies, but I managed to overclock it to 4,8 GHz@1,385V (somewhat 1,39X V in the OS) on air. It booted to OS nicely, and I even played Far Cry 4 on Ultra for 30 minutes. Temps were up to 76°C on the hottest Core #1. Luckily, my chip seems capable hitting at least 4,9 GHz mark without exceeding 1,44V, but there's no point doing that.

Successful tests were conducted with Prime95 28.9 (small FFt & blended) at 4,6GHz@1,34V (1,344 in OS) for 30 minutes and with Far Cry 4 for 3+ hours in quite hot room. Only OCCT test crashed, displaying some "Error detected on Core #1" in less than 10 minutes, unless I rise the voltage to 1,35V.

shout out to 4.3-4.6. Seriously if you did this 10 years ago the answers would be far more spread out. Nowadays apparently we all live in the 4.0-4.8 range

Your mb does offer the unlock feature in bios? If yes the cpu is probably unlockable or native dual core.

4790K @ 4.2 quad load. Perks of having such a high stock clock! Believe my specific chip has gone up to 4.6 or 4.7 when I still had it on my Z97MX-Gaming 5 back then, but obviously now that cannot be done. This thing cleans up all the 2005-era games that still cling to one core.

But dammmmnnnn the heat off this thing when the air con isn't operating at that very moment when I fire up GTA V. I don't think I'll be needing much of that portable heater in my life when it comes to December in Bristol. Kinda glad I haven't jumped on the DDR4 hype train, so Haswell can keep me warm a bit longer

4460 at 3.2 of course. And yes, the Q8200 in the corner is chugging away at 2.33GHz
