So I was thinking about getting this video card. I can probably get it to do 600/1500. So, at stock levels do you think it's on-par with my x1800? Thing is my x1800 will lock up and crash my OpenGL games (doom3...) and I want an Nvidia card because they have better OpenGL support. Besides, this x1800 artifacts and is really nothing more than a hunka junk that lets me play some DirectX games.
I think this is a smart move since I got an SLI chipset I can throw another one in for SLI mode around Christmas time.
I think my 5200+ can keep up with SLI 8600gt, do you? I DO plan to OC it... just not now... because my stock cooling needs to spin at 5.4K RPM to keep my CPU at safe temps lol
