lol. easy enough. i'm figuring i can just google these or are there previous posts with links? i'm in bed on a mobile device with terrible internet now sorry. i can look through this thread more tomorrow if links, etc are already posted.

posts #820 and #962

awesome. thank you. all you guys deserve a medal. can't wait to try this out tomorrow. i'll be able to see if it works based on cpu-z, and won't need both cards to check, correct?

also, how stable is this in gaming and benchmarks?

it would be better if you have second card.
as for stability i don't know

well tbh i don't even have the first one yet, and probably won't for a while. out of curiosity how does this modded thing essentially trick the other components? the easy version please, and again i'm sure i could figure it out be reading a bunch of the other posts, so thanks in advance ;)

it tells to driver what we have x58 chipset

so really all it's doing is tricking the driver into letting us run sli. not changing TONS of code? so a working version should actually be very stable, i would assume? this is exciting hehe.

not changing. we'll see and test

since crossfire is allowed on x58, why wouldnt an nvidia board being shows as x58 allow crossfire?

you have a very good point mussels, if we extracted the DSDT from a crossfire board, and find the block, then apply the LHalmod to an Nvidia board, to show as x58

then the ATI drivers should instal ehh?

ohhh this would be soooo cool, nvidia and ATI guys united in thier quest for free choice

priceless :rockout:

Now you see where I was going with that! I would test but I only have 1 3870. Anyone got a 2nd I can borrow?

im all AMD boards here, and Nviida cards, i personaly dont like ATI cards, but love AMD Mobo's, so you can see how this is a godsend for me, but i fully respect that there will be others who love Nvidia boards and ATI cards.

i am also a gamer with one watercooled GTX260, buying another would be a cheap upgrade for me now, even with waterblock.

i dug out my two 8500GT's to test this mod, and one was dead, i have bought another but it doesnt come to tommorow now, bit of a downer, but hey as long as i can get it going

I could dig out my old AW9D-Max to do some testing, but its in need of rma (cost $25 and shipping). Still, I don't have a 2nd GTS to test any of this with.

I was a hardcore nVidia fanboi at one point in time.

I am all bout freedom of choice on the motherboards.

okay :) I just installed the latest official BIOS and will do a W7 x64 setup now. If I get it to work next step ist Vista x64

not working... still the same problem. the bios seems to have so many errors. checking the file: 40x errors...

seems MSI usually changes everything directly in the BIOS. Someone has experience with the Slic-Tool for AMI-BIOS?

but this mod doesnt touch the motherboard bios, it inserts a string into your registry, to say its an SLI board, then step two changes your HAL, to say that you are running an Intel x58 chipset.

send me your DSDT

Schlingel send me your DSDT please. I'll try something.

here it is. complete fresh according to Bios 1.6b2

I know but how the SLIC is inserted I guess makes no difference. Only If yo do this on BIOS-Level one misstake could kill your board. So do it on the OS-Level an if problem -> reinstall in worst case...

okay working on it

1: loadtable ->ok
2: Reboot ->ok
3: iasl -g ->*.dsl->SLIC inluded :D
4: will try the modded nv-driver now

5: SLi with modded driver not working. could be that it checks for intel signature? will try the hal-mod now
