Without windows recognaising your card, no SLI for sure...
Tell me about it! We should start a club or something...

Are you confortable about BIOS update? If you are please update to latest, and re-do slistringinstaller.
Does a BIOS update always reset string installer? What about re-flash of the same version.

What is the command to remove string install / reset any ACPI table changes?

Also will ACPI 3.0 and SLIC activation mod cause problems for string installer?

I really appreciate all your help aGeoM and anatolymik. But it's late here and I've got to head to bed and get some sleep before classes tomorrow. First thing after classes I'll be checking my video cards and getting back to you guys. I hope we can figure this out. You guys are amazing.

when you be here try this table

http://depositfiles.com/files/wgqnaekro

you can load it by using "asl /loadtable DSDT_A1039001.dat"

I have experienced DSDT registry changes with diferent bios changes, but it shouldn't change if the bios version the same.

The best way is before you do anything is to dump your dsdt ( iasl -g ) and then proceed with the modding.

Also will ACPI 3.0 and SLIC activation mod cause problems for string installer?

It shouldn'd, but anatolymik know better than me.

I backed up my dsdt immediately after installing just to be safe,

but I installed in ACPI 3.0 mode by mistake, I'm glad I don't need to re-install again.

I look forward to trying the new halmod tomorrow, now I must also get some sleep!

Yes it was enable.Ok i did it again (this time i changed ACPI to ACPI 2.0 and install fresh windows) and it still wont` work.
I run slistringinstall and lunch cmd.exe as admin and i did a dsl file, then i modified by myself.
I followed by this site
http://xdevs.com/e107_plugins/content/content.php?content.30
and this post
http://forums.techpowerup.com/showpost.php?p=1551569&postcount=367
This is link for 3 dsl files from my motherboard.
http://www.mediafire.com/file/ktwzwmamtw5/TP45HP.rar
dsdt_P45B7001.dsl is original file.
dsdt_MOD_P45B7001.dsl is modified by slistringistall.
dsdt_SLIC_P45B7001 is modified by me.
I turned on Test Mode from command post, then i installed nvidia drivers. After this I replaced orginal file nvlddmkm.sys by modified nvlddmkm.sys (rev2) . I did restart and i saw this:

I tried again witch slistringinstall + halmod 0.8 + unmodified drivers it doesn`t work too.
What am i doing wrong ?

Do you have a 2nd 8800Gt installed?
From the picture link its only showing one video card installed.
From the yellowed error I'd say the driver wasn't installed.

Probably driver installed only one 8800GT and that was problem.
On P5K-E windows saw 2x8800gt not one like on TP45HP. I`m wondering why driver install only one card, I`m sure i turn on second pci-e. I checked twice.

On the TP45HP from my understanding the 2nd PCI-E slot is only x8, witch shouldn't matter other than in benches.
The TP45HP has a bunch of jumper that have to be moved to enable crossfire & probably need to be moved as well to enable SLI.
You'll have to see your manual on what are the correct settings for those jumpers. Once those are set correct it should see the 2nd card.

I set those jumpers before I put cards to MB. I checked twice is everything is correct. I don`t know what is going on, but i`m too tired to think about this. Now i can go to sleep :)
Thanks for everything.

This thread is awsome. Great work guys!(Lucky owner of Asus P5W DH Deluxe & 2 Gf 9500GT :D, Windows 7 64bit). I was thinking of selling this board for no SLI, but... :D:D. Now 3dmark06 - 9411 with no oc on the cpu and GF cards (5841 with one GT9500), so the gain is awsome. Thanks very much. Ok back to testing :D.

Feedback and Thanks to all developers here

Look here: http://xdevs.com/e107_plugins/content/content.php?content.30
for Vista 32bit SLI stuff to enable.

Edit: If I remember correct XP32bit & Vista 32bit uses the same setup.
Someone please confirm, I've never tested Vista, only XP 32 & W7 64bit.

It's sooo easy! I've tried in Vista and Seven (both x86) -> it works!
I've installed official driver 190.62
I've deactivated UAC
I used the last SLIstring-Installer
I've changed the original nvlddmkm.sys with this file http://www.xdevs.com/sli/nvlddmkm.rar

That's all. I'm so happy guys :D
AND: No Testmode, no Watermark :D

(HW: Gigabyte GA-EX38-DS4 and 2x 8800GT)

Is the card detected in windows device manager? Does it have a yellow (?) symbol over it,

maybe try removing the power cable then resetting CMOS jumper, then load BIOS defaults.

Also, have you got the "J1" molex power cable connected, try it connected & unconnected,

but power-down the computer first! Also look for any PCIE settings in the BIOS,

the Biostar manuals are crap so it does not explain what these settings do.

I also have big problems with my Biostar board, I never got it to detect my two 8800GT cards. :(

Good luck, I hope you can fix it! :)

It wasn't showing up in the device manager. There were no PCIe related BIOS settings.

Reset the CMOS

Here we go, I found this in the Device Manager, under System Devices. "Intel(R) 4 Series Chipset PCI Express Root Port - 2E29" with a yellow exclamation point. This may be why it isn't showing up any more. Attempting to fix the issue

Edit 1: Under the the mentioned device's properties. Under the resources tab I get this. "This device cannot find enough free resources that it can use. If you want to use this device, you need to disable one of the other devices on this system"

Any ideas?

Try enabling / disabling "PnP OS" in BIOS, also look at IRQ settings, ACPI etc

Also try Clear NVRAM, disabling soundcard and other devices.

Then maybe remove all chipset & display drivers and reload them.

If you are sure all the jumpers are correct then I am out of ideas...

Hi

What you can do, is to patch the registry with original DSDT, and check for the error you are having now, if still errores then do what Nick is saying. Could be the new SLIC code be conflicting with another device.

I just got my new hard drive, so I'm going to try this entire process on a fresh copy of Windows.

Actually, I'm going to continue that tomorrow

Here's a screenshot of my device manager with the problem.

Tried enabling/disabling PnP in the bios. How do I clear the NVRAM?

Edit 3: Windows install died again...

My Biostar board has a "Clear NVRAM" Yes / No option in the BIOS.

Did you boot into windows after changing PnP OS setting?

Try removing any PCI cards, disable LPT, COM and MIDI ports maybe??

I have a similar resource conflict on my nforce4 board but it still detects both cards ok.

Nvidia nForce4 PCI System Management:
I/O Range 4C00 - 4C3F not available.
I/O Range 4C40 - 4C7F not available.

I do not think there is an easy way to uninstall the intel chipset drivers,

I would re-flash the BIOS that worked ok and re-install windows,

Good luck...

Ok, reinstalled windows and did everything

QUOTE=agentdax5;1574708]
Clean install Windows 7 x64
Install 190.62 Win7 x64 WHQL Nvidia Drivers
Disable UAC
Reboot
Run SLI string installer as Admin select ASUS certificate.
Run HALMod v0.81 alpha
DO NOT use the modded nvlddmkm.sys
Reboot
[/QUOTE]

I still don't have SLI. My second video card is showing in the device manager again though, which is good.
