Any one know how to get phsyx running on the NV card but openl-cl running on the ATI card?

I want decent video decoding again!

install the latest open-cl sdk from ati's developer section, that's how it worked for me.

If somebody didnt know as I just happened to read about this: the async setting should be set to on, thats if yall want to get ALL of the cores on your cpu busy when running FluidMark.

http://www.geeks3d.com/20100526/physx-fluidmark-how-to-get-you-multi-core-cpu-busy-at-100/

:toast:

It makes no difference for me when running on gpu phsyx mode, makes a fair bit o difference on CPU phsyx.

On small amounts of particles say 5k I get 80sps or so and 10k around 60 and 18k I get 32.

Fine for a light phsyx if not fine for most of the physx I see in games at the moment

@ Random Murderer, that worked perfectly last time I just tried running the sdk with the update option enabled thanks : ]

Now I get great open CL performance and better than just cpu ( can handle up to 30k particles on the 8600) phsyx performance.

40fps avg w/ physx on high and everything else turned up @ 1680x1050. I was getting 44.5fps avg before in the demo w/ 10.4...

anyone else notice a drop in performance between demo and fullgame? maybe it is the 10.8 drivers.

Putting energy bills aside, how well would it perform?

exactly the same as the slower cards.

physX doesnt scale up past a certain point, its capped to only use certain amounts of performance - otherwise it would be too slow for people without high end dedicated physx cards.

They should allow more user control, I wouldn't mind two dedicated gpus and two nvidia phsyx cards for the lulz

Works fine with me, although if your talking about slow performance you need to delete some files.

Go into your Mirror's Edge install location, and then go into the binaries folder.
(Usually C:\Program Files\EA Games\Mirror's Edge\Binaries or C:\Program Files (x86)\EA Games\Mirror's Edge\Binaries)

Delete the following:
PhysXcore.dll
PhysXDevice.dll
and the folder called PhysXLocal

DO NOT DELETE PHYSXEXTENSION.DLL. The game will not run without it.

Putting it in tommorow, it just arrived. Downloading Nv 196 drivers and the PhysX patch 1.4 now. Still running ATI CCC 10.3 though, havent been arsed to update it, will do in the next install.

Chosen for the 9800GTX+ because it looks sexy :p Doesnt justify the power consumption but hey! Looks mean something too.

The 1.4ff patch will not work with the 196 drivers. If you want to use the 196 drivers then grab the 1.3 patch. 1.4ff patch is for the 2xx drivers.

Benchmark Scores Can play Pacman and Space Invaders. Lags a bit, but still playable :D
Got hem new Nvidia drivers. But I dont know if its working properly, I get nice constant frames in Fluidmark but I havent run the program without the 9800GTX+. I also dont know if Nvidia has PhysX enabled since I cant check it in there Control Panel.

1 other thing. I taught to get this to work the modded added a fake screen to the mix, I have none besides my standard 22''. So is this true?

Lastly, how can I prove the 9800GTX+ is pulling its weight. Is there a benchmark that wouldnt run without Nvidia physX?
