i7 880 or 875k...

Pondering an inexpensive build around a 1156 board for crunching/internet. Keyword: Pondering.

I have not got the money or a place for it, yet. Just wondering if these CPU's are worth building around or, if the are more space heater than monster number crunchers.

if the 1156 are on the same ratio tdp/perf as the 1366 are, well both of them are interesting : take the cheaper you find ... if the seller doesnt think, because its intel, he can sell it for a shit tons of $$$

also perf wise for exemple a i7-920 is still capable (game crunch or whatever) if you oc it a bit (2,66 to 4,4 IE ) a i7-870 is on the same level of a i5-2500K actually so a 880 or a 875K should be a good one (ofc it will eat more watts)

Not sure if I will be set up for a desktop in a month. I am sincerely trying, but I have been talking to a wall, of sorts.

This Mission, where I reside, has what they call, a Hotel, where there are single rooms and some are available!

Why then does the Hotel MGR not give me the time of day? I have some theories, NSFTPU.
