basically what would you do with it??

be serious guys.
is it worth o/cing.cause im having trouble
o/cing my ram and cpu

i am happy with my pc.its run fine(except for the random freezing)

just want your opinions guys:toast:

Use it as a door stop ?

Why not fold with it ?

get a new mobo and then you would be fine oc'ing etc

you should be able to overclock that CPU to a minimum of 3.3Ghz, 3.4 would be a good overclock for that CPU. If its a 65nm model it should overclock somewhat better and run cooler, even if its not it should overlock to 3.3 at least. I think you should get another board if you are having no luck overclocking with this one(and possibly a new PSU). As an AMD owner you can get a DDR2 board that will support Deneb and may be upgrade to it later. Or, if you can, wait till DDR3 boards and upgrade the RAM and CPU as well in 6 months time.

Why not just pick a p45 motherboard and an intel cpu. Make sure you get a motherboard that supports crossfire so a little while from now you could pick up another 4850. That would make for a sweet rig.

i think because 775 is a dead end in terms of an upgrade path. if he gets another board he wont have buy a new CPU right away but he can upgrade to a better one later.

NO I still say DOOR STOP !

idk id use it as a heater, that what i use mine for

Hımmm. Your system pretty good. İf you want you can take down timing your memories. You could upgrade with phenom II soon. But maybe you should get a new mainboard.

I would save money, watch anime, playing some games, and buy a new computer when I got enough money for a complete NEW system.

I would fold with it , Game with it , Have fun with it .
Look if your computer is running fine for you and does all you want it to I see no point in doing any thing els .
If you want to get more out of your CPU you will have to get a new MOBO as it seems to me you are having problems over clocking with the current mobo . so if that it the road you want to go down then you need to get a better mobo one made to OC the 6000+ If not use it to fold on and build a new Intel Quad set-up . :toast:

Interesting thread. I'd just transform your PC into my PC and get a better case

What is protein folding and how is folding linked to disease?
Proteins are biology's workhorses -- its "nanomachines." Before proteins can carry out these important functions, they assemble themselves, or "fold." The process of protein folding, while critical and fundamental to virtually all of biology, in many ways remains a mystery.

And

You can help by simply running a piece of software.
Folding@home is a distributed computing project -- people from throughout the world download and run software to band together to make one of the largest supercomputers in the world. Every computer takes the project closer to our goals. Folding@home uses novel computational methods coupled to distributed computing, to simulate problems millions of times more challenging than previously achieved.

First get rid of that shit board. Second you are going in wrong direction first you need stable at stock system so with ocing you can make it unstable :D. I have never heard some one to fix random freezing with overclocking.

I would have your CPU screaming at 3.5-3.7 Ghz

I would have your ram down to 3-3-3-10

I would have your video card OCed to 800 at least.

I would be on water.

O yea

And I would buy a 790FX board and have fun smashing the ECS board.

To people on this forum, everything is worth OCing.

Unless it's something like a Celeron. No matter how well u oc them it'll give off similiar performance.

Nah OCing my P4 actually helped.
