Not the same thing. That agreement allowed each company to share each others IP so both companies could make competing products that were compatible with a common WINTEL platform running a common OS.Remember how the x86 and x86-64 licensing agreements went that would be IP sharing to a t.
The Ford-GM agreement is also a collaborative effort in the development of a 10 speed tranny both will use.
This AMD/Intel agreement allows for one company to stop producing a product while the other company takes over production.
I've made my case with supporting evidence because as I noted, I don't expect you to believe me just because I say so.
