Can I just leave my side panel off? It's not too loud and keeps things chilled really well. Will this pose any harm to my components?

Yes but make sure NO liquid gets in.

dust is the only issue, aside from the protective aspect of the case door being on. If you overclock and a motherboard component gives out or a capacitor pops, the door is a line of defense if the case sits on the desktop.

The case sits on my floor and I don't overclock, the room lacks dust for the most part, I only need to clean dust from my monitor every month or two, and the case door has no fans on it.... so.... Yeah.

It's safe?

Yep!!!! Freeball it

Yes safe.

Sweet. I like the ability to be able to look at/access without that huge ugly door. However I'll likely put said huge ugly door back on when my light kit comes in.

Where did you buy that dust free room? I need one too, cleaning sucks (and therefore never happens)!

I had to leave my side panel off on my very first case as it sucked so much and had no fans in it.

Free ballin ftw! :toast:

little extra air-flow never hurt nuffin . . .

just keep the cat out :p

I would probably leave the side of my case off....but I have a 240mm blue LED fan on my side panel :rockout:

Im have mine off only because I thought it was keeping my system hot. Once I get a full tower case, this wont be an issue.

Since your room is dust free though, go for it!

dood I have both of my side panels off and have for quite some time and before that I used a bench table with no sides or top so yeah more than safe besides side panels are for pussies

On the floor I would be worried about my foot going in there. :~

During the summer of 2006, it was so fvâ“’king crazy hot here that my computer at the time kept overheating and crashing while I was playing UT2004 (it was on my desk). I ended up taking the side panel off and putting a box fan on high in its place. :P

Ahhh, playing UT2004 all day in the nude and smoking weed all night ... that was a good summer. ^_^

I you lived where i am, you would leave the panel on!

Way tooo much snow right now!

I just keep the door closed and everyone else out.

I might just build a hood that holds fans and pull my motherboard tray out and have everything loose and free like.

The inside of mine was getting warm, from the nb i think. So i took the window out,and put the side on again, part free ballin, plus it still looks pretty good.

I put my side panel back on last night, and the cpu temp went from 39*C to 43*C... boo that

You can cut a piece of window screen to fit and hot glue magnets to secure it to the side. Its easy removal and also will help with some of the dust and other stuff in the air.

I used to keep mine off. Can't now though cause I have 2 cats now...

mines been running with both side panels off for since xmas

Just dust and spilling things is a problem, best to keep side panel on tho, would rather have higher temps then higher risk of danger to me or others around me.
