All right.. who's going to start the petition for the mail man in LFD3... we also have to make sure to note to them that his title is no kidding matter... He delivers the goods, and takes no sh1t for it..

I will have to pass.

While L4D3 will be a good cash cow for Valve, HL3 would have a bigger fan base ut then again I am pretty sure valve would not want to push out a sequel of HL with a shitty story line.

Exactly. Half-Life 1 & 2 were pretty revolutionary in their time. I'm sure they want 3 to follow the same suit as their predecessors. But I can't help but feel they were taking their sweet ass time developing waiting for the next-gen console development kits in order to start making a new engine for the game.

Valve isn't stupid, they will release Half-Life 3 only when it's up to their standard which I think is pretty high. And that's always a good thing. But I wish they would at least admit they are officially working on it :D

I can't imagine L4D 3 coming out before HL3 does, but you never know with Valve.

They're at a standstill now...TF2, L4D2, Portal 2,HL2....they either have to create another IP or finally learn how to count. :D

TF2 still have a very strong fan base.
LFD2 can be left to the side for a bit since the fan base is full of trolls.
Portal 2 sequel while would be well received, I personally find would be too early.
HL sequel...the longer they leave it the higher the expectations of being an epic game.

I do not want to see HL's next sequel to turn out like Duke Nukem Forever where while it was fine it was not good.
 
We hope that the sequel will be good , Duke Nukem Forever wasn't a good game ...
 
There will never be a L4D3, however there will be a L4D2 Episode 1 and 2.

HL3, may or may not end up being a Steambox launch title. As prior history shows, the main titled Half-Life games were released on new engines, with Valve working on a new Source engine I expect the trend to continue.

As long as they release it for Windows as well I'm happy. I have been worried about that since Newells anger at Microsoft, but it would be titanically stupid of them not to release it for Windows.

It'll be on Windows for sure. The console version could be a Steambox exclusive, or at least a timed exclusive.

For all of his hate toward Windows 8, GabeN knows his customer base really, really well.
 
maybe they will release portal 3, tf3, half life 3, left 4 dead 3, and maybe counter strike 2/dota 3?? all at the same time. maybe the called "The Three Box"?
 
I reckon Valve make so much money with their Steam platform that they're not bothered investing in creating games, which make much less.
 
I think steam in general needs a complete overhaul as a platform, the GUI is just old, popups kick you out of whatever full screen app you are running if it isnt steam related and you cant chat or message people while you verify game files which is just stupid. Minor problems i know but none the less they are still problems
 
Valve doesn't make trilogies. The best we can hope for is L4D2 episode 1.

Steam is fine as it is, some of us aren't into the whole social media fad and don't need an overhaul.

Oh, sorry about that, no just information plastered all over the place. I cannot wait for the new game especially with the new Source 2 Engine. I wonder how much better the graphics and game play will be over the 1st two.

Anyhow what I would love to see is a Quad-Barrel Shotgun in the 3rd L4D. That would be awesome Big Time.

left 4 dead 2 just didnt seem as fun as the first left 4 dead. i will probably purchase l4d3 though.
