There is a demo for the 7900 series card called Leo Demo.

interesting concept and nice lighting changes but due to the nature of the demo not impressed, its great for a tech standpoint but no games look like that, and thus its application to gaming is at this point suspect and limited, then again after moving away from the ruby demos theyve just gotten progressively worse.

I wouldnt play a game that looked like that.

Thats narrow minded, reminds me of Little Big Planet meets Trine, at least looking at the screens. Do people really judge games based completely on art styles now days?

i dont think its the graphics style that ruins the demo or anyone being narrow minded,

the problem is you cant really compare this to MOST titles on the market thereby making it far harder to truly see a big difference or what kind of difference this would make compared to current generation games and real time cg

If the games looks annoy you.. thats reason enough not to play something.. Ur opinion on people complaining about graphics is narrow minded.. :nutkick:

This demo demonstates per-pixel lighting. It's rather short.

Uh, as far as I know this is just a tech demo, not a demo for an upcoming game.

I do. Thats why i refused to play TF2.

Interesting but don't see why it's for the 7970 series as it played perfectly fine for me on a 6970. Like hell beats the hell out of those sHIT ruby demos.

TF2 that clip was better than any thing to do with TF2 lol.

I liked it but i like stuff like that if done right.

I was talking about it as a game, not in relation to cg or anything else.

Disagree, sick of people judging games based on graphics, some of the best games out there are text games, people today seem to think great graphics = great game. Having an open mind, and being willing to try out games that don't have the most appealing art style is the exact opposite of narrow minded, get a dictionary. :nutkick:

Which is why i was glad skyrim was on the same engine.. Shit look how popular Minecraft is lol.

Im apparently the only one in the world that doesnt think great graphics = great game but having great graphics makes playing the game worth it considering the fact that you are constantly looking at the visuals. I want something that somewhat resembles a real world and not something coming out of a cartoon episode. If I want cartoonie then ill just watch tv. My super awesome rig doesnt want to play something that looks like a modern day original Super Mario Bros.

I refuse to play minecraft as I dont want a game that makes me feel like im in 1982. Im willing to bet most people play minecraft because their computers cant handle anything more intense than that.

I really don't see why anyone would care what your preferences are in games. They're not you. This isn't on topic anyways, this thread is for a tech demo for pixel lighting.

Thanks ECH for the link. :toast:

Most wouldnt. Reason I stated it was for the reason I quoted.

1982 ? you might find you going way to far back there. if any were it be around the 90's. But thats the problem people judge to much about 1st impression or by what the front cover looks like on a book :P. Which i did with minecraft and thought f it and gave it a reasonable chance.

Anyways, i was not in to stuff like this video\demo until i had my own kids. But like i said their has to be so much detail in it for me to like it just a shame in this case it's very short and made me think that they used a dragon because skyrim was boasting we have cool dragons which was hyped no end.

I realize I was being a tad extreme when I said 1982 but it sounded better in the sentence when read aloud. ;)

It looks nice but i miss Ruby themed tech demos. Sure cartoons are nice as well, but who doesn't like explosions, fast vehicles, robots and a hot redhead in a tight red dress?
