No panel improvements in there? I mean I would pay just for that.
They did a review on it.

I tried an ultrawide last year as well. I liked the extra FOV, but modern monitors just don't interest me, which is why I was holding out for a LG OLED 40" 120hz someday... OLED is nom nom.

How dare youtube content creators actually monetize their work? They should make it for free, even though we pay nothing for just watching it, right?HWUB: Shame on you LG for bribing

I disagree as well. They are indeed reviewers. While their conclusions may include some editorial "drama", the review itself involves impartial and thorough testing of the products in laboratory environments for the purpose of confirming the product meets or exceeds published specifications, and/or to see how that product compares with other products in that same class of products. They are "influencers", not reviewers. HWUB is way too good at fanning flame and making drama to be considered as neutral reviewer

HWUB Tim likely has way better monitors laying around if he wants one to use, in fact given how many he reviews he likely has too many about. These youtube channels still feel they not doing paid reviews, LG worded it as "additional compensation", which I think was the correct term, as they get the hardware free which makes it a paid/sponsored review, but the youtube reviewers really dont want to back down on that one. Note that LG didnt ask for the monitor back.
I have seen it time and time again, when a youtuber gets blacklisted or just doesnt get a sample for any reason, they can do "revenge" reviews where they buy the product and proceed to slam it. All youtubers will be aware the vendor is expecting sales from the review, it is a sales pitch, and at the same time they have to "appear" as neutral. Which is why bad points are always played down and most reviews come out positive, if there is an actual bad review, usually the entire review sector does it together so a vendor cant pick on one reviewer, I think it was a while back one of them revealed they show each other their reviews before they published. I use reviews for the data and technical notes, but not for the opinion.
I think its very possible to be a lost in translation kind of thingregardless of your opinion of them, its not cool for a company to try to bribe reviewers. its a shady practice and thats the real issue here. you keep that crap in the make-up cosmetics industry, stay out of our tech world with that non-sense. good riddance I say.

Asian cultures are very different from western ones, especially in the field of bussiness.
Nothing was "lost in translation".LG demanded editing rights over a review, offered to "compensate" us for the privilege, and admitted this was a plan to stop bad reviews because they hurt sales.

LG Display and LG CN are two different companies. LG Display makes panels for like half the other brands, so even if you buy a dell, sony, etc. You're still buying an LG.I was seriously considering buying an LG OLED in a couple years. Don't think I will now. That's kind of pathetic. Seriously... they should have the self-awareness to know they can't get away with that crap with hardware unboxed.
