Logitech Support= Awesome

Sometimes I hate you guys...

£180 spent on Z-5500.

Now, back to how awesome Logitech is!

I just moved house and sadly the palm rest for my very old g15 broke. It is waay out of warranty and i have no receipt, i was expecting them to say "give us £30 and we'll send a replacement palm rest". I call their support phone number, explain the situation and after the customer service rep talks to their manager for a few mins they come back to me with a 50% off offer on any keyboard (they are out of stock for the palm rests sadly, otherwise they'd have sent me one for free). I am now very tempted to get a g19 for £75.

I do love logitech support, which is why you pay a premium on logitech products (plus the build quality is usually very, very good).

I'd have to agree with you, I am thoroughly impressed, let's hope they keep it up. :rockout:

I should give them a call & ask them about G7 batteries - mine spends more time in the charger then actually in the mouse itself, then they'd probably give me 50% off too :P - I already have a G9 so I dont need another....Id probably go for a half price G500. as its a very similar shape to my old G7 (G9's one fugly mouse)

i was thinking exactly that, my G7 doesnt work on black mousemats (which is all i have!) and the batteries are toast.

i should dig out my old g7 thinking about it - the batteries for it are fine (i have 4 of them) but the left mouse button double or triple clicks for every actual click. The only problem is it is out of warranty and the product id and serial number is rubbed off from the bottom as i have used it a lot on uneven surfaces. Then again i have grown to love my g9, so i dont really need a new mouse at the moment..

ya ive been loving my g500

Just one more reason to use logitech. My headphones, mouse and keyboard are all logi.
They are very reliable.

same. hard to go back now, when at first i hated the button layout for the thumb buttons.

went from my g5(same layout different button placement), to lachesis it was like WTF?, but now im back to the same layout on my g500 and im loving the 5700 dpi had to decrease my sens in css to .4 but who cares :-P, i didnt like the g5 dpi adjustment button placement i kept clicking it by accident with my palm, but now its all good.

well have to update you all on my logitech g110 keyboard, short story is that my daughter stepped on my g110 keyboard and cracked it fairly bad, so the first time i emailed them, they told me since i did not have the original receipt i would need to send a pic of the board and the numbers on the back, well i realy didnt want to send a picture of my board cracked, so I just said that my camera was nort working and that i couldnt take a pic of it to send in, of course they said that they could not do anything for me then, i was alright with this... but then came another email asking me to rate my expereince with them, so i filled it in so it would tend to benifit me and said that i would not purchase there product anymore, well about two days after i emailed that to them i got a phone call from logitech supervisor saying that they did not want to lose a customer over a technicality and that they will be sending me a new g110 board shortly... well it came today all prepaid!! now that is top notch customer support!!

I will forever buy logitech products if available for my desire because of my experience with their support. One of the legs broke off of my g11 keyboard so I emailed them and they gave me a shipping label to send in my keyboard and sent me the g110 at absolutely no cost to me. Just because one of the legs broke off the keyboard. I would have been happy if they let me buy spare legs for 5 bucks but I'll gladly take this deal too :)

I've had a few Logitech speakers that came out of the box with a problem (like a loose jack or something) and they would just send a new set like that. They didn't even want the broken ones back! Awesome if you ask me!

It's a good story, and pretty honorable for logitech to offer that.

To all the other people planning to scam Logitech, you suck. It's lousy to screw people (or a company) for thier honesty, and you'll ruin it for other people who actually need help then.
Like erocker, I've worked in Customer Support for a major laptop manufacturer, and it's people like Epicfail we like to help, but when we sniff dishonesty from customers, procedures will be changed and it will be the customer who loses out in the long run.

hey i hope you are not implying that i scammed logitech?its not like i didnt spend the $100.00 on there board in the first place,I was just saying that they have excellent customer service for going above there guidelines in my particular situation

other people. not you.

yeah i understand, no probs :)

I dont see it as a scam. If i bought a $2 mini usb mouse from logitech i couldnt careless if it broke & chances are i probably wont bother calling them up to get it replaced.

but the fact is - for most of us, the stuff we bought doesnt cost $2 a peice, it costs a lot more then that & if it goes wrong & logitech offer to give you cash off your next perchase or replacement. who are we to argue?

the way i see it, its a thank you gesture for buying their products, in a market thats filled with hundreds of different brands to go with. you/us/we chose Logitech.

its not a scam. a REAL scam would be if we called them up to report a faulty product without the faulty product existing at all or being 'faulty' in the first place - now that is a outright scam.

we all own logitech products, we are entitled to aftersales support & it dont matter if the mouse is as old as a G7 or whatever, if they choose to give you money off for staying with them then more power to them because:

#1 - it keeps the customers happy
#2 - people will talk about the excellent tech/aftersales support
#3 - logitechs build quality is second to none. but obviously that doesnt protect them against malfunctions. all technology are prone to malfunctions. but I have never had an issue with broken logitech gear as much as some people have & when they do its usually related to 1 item in the line up that have an history of breaking possibly because of factory defects

& its not as if they give 50% off to everyone, most re/e-tailers sell at full R.R.P so its not as if logitech are losing a silly amount of money.

we bought their hardware. they want us to keep buying their products & give us the best offer for a replacement. anyway you look at it. its a win win situation. - customers stick with logitech, pay less for a replacement if their current is broken. & hell, not everyone wants to go out there & pay full price again for another G19, or G11 or one of their more expensive peripherals.

so kudos to logitech for keeping the customer within their interests.

Roast - pardon my rudeness when i say go QQ more.

he was talking about people who are calling up when nothing is wrong, purely to get the discounts.
