Long delay in receiving email notifications

I finally just got an email from tpu dated June 4th at 12:09 am. lol So hopefully they'll slowly catch back up.

I've had a couple of email notifications arrive after a 36 hour delay. Well, at least they arrive.

My email address is working normally in getting emails from other sources, including American ones.

Oh bugger. Sods law, isn't it?

EDIT: I'm getting a drip feed of greatly delayed emails of more than a day old. W1zz, I suspect that your restart fixed it and the server is just clearing its backlog. Wow, knowing how busy TPU is, there must be hundreds of thousands stuck in there!

Well I'm a bit confused now. I changed my email from that of my ISP to my live account.

Kreij sent me a private message which I got at 1:53pm.
I got the email notification at 2:24pm.

However next to the email message on my Windows Live Mail it said 1:53pm

I checked the time on my pc as soon as the 'new email notification' bell rang... It was 2:24pm.

But still, whatever. The email entered my inbox at 2:24 sharp, half an hour after I had already seen the private message on TPU.

Now that the recent issue is fixed, did you ever figure this out? Are you using an email client like Thunderbird or Outlook? Usually they poll the server every so often, they aren't instantly updated, so might try changing the setting for how often the client polls the server.
