No more Mass Effect for a while, don't expect much in the way of bug fixes or DLC either.

This is what happens when you get a DLC-specific developer to make an entire game!
I wouldn't be surprised if they're not doing DLCs and saving any extra content (if any was created, which probably wasn't) for the sequel. People were moved to other projects because sequel is going into pre-production which doesn't need a large team.

I'd imagine there is DLC. Would be dumb not to; the game isn't that bad and I can't imagine sales were that bad either. They clearly setup the game for a possible sequel or story DLC. Some of the quests after the main story can allude to this. I for one would like to see some good story DLC missions.

I think originally Bioware was planning on making ME: Andromeda part of a 3 part series but who knows now.

For now EA is saying no DLC is planned but that could change later on if the sales do meet their expectations. According to what I've been reading EA has moved some Bioware employees around to work on other projects but some are still working on patching ME:A

EA should try hiring game developers instead of SJW's fresh out of technical school. Wasn't there a season pass with this game?

Look at it from EA's perspective: 6 months worth of labor on DLC for a game that isn't doing so great or 6 months of development towards a sequel that has the major issues fixed and doesn't have the bad reputation of Andromeda? EA went into damage control mode: they're going to fix (have fixed) the very broken parts of ME:A so that it can make money until the sequel releases. They're going to put most of their resources into the sequel. Ubisoft did the same with Assassin's Creed: Unity. Unity is still pretty crappy but most of the issues are fixed in Syndicate. Unity only got one DLC and my guess is development on it was started before Unity released so they were committed to it. ME:A launch was delayed and they were working on the game up until launch. It's very doubtful any DLCs were in the works. They already were over time and over budget.

If there was a Season Pass I haven't heard of it. On Origin there's the base game and then the Deluxe Edition but that only adds some skins and a soundtrack. They are selling ME:A points though so I'm not sure what people will be able to buy with those.

Edit: Looks like the points are for in game currency in multiplayer to buy items.

Patch 1.06 has been released..seems like more things has been fixed, might be worth picking up now hmm..do i get it on PC or PS4
http://blog.bioware.com/2017/05/09/mass-effect-andromeda-patch-1-06-notes/
Can't believe it took that long to do this...

"Added graphics options to toggle Motion Blur and Depth of Field"

As for the Montreal studio restructuring, I'm more concerned about how it will affect support (patching) of Andromeda 1, than the timeline of Andromeda 2. I'm sure there's still plenty more fixing necessary even after patch 1.06.

The Mass effect series is in my top 5 of all time... But this game was fucking garbage...
Bland as fuck voice actors...
A plot that was stupid....
Game doesn't feel finished... Almost like it was split up and made to be finished through DLC.
Shit graphics.
One of the worst game engines I have ever played on.
Stupid... Stupid.... Stupid Game... Not worth $1

Who ever said there would be Andromeda 2 or even 3? I think all of that were just speculations on forums, but EA either never commented on that or flat out said it was not meant to be another trilogy, just a standalone game.

You're right actually. I was going by a rather misleading sentence in that Rock, Paper, Shotgun article posted.

"Word is that the devs have been moved onto other projects instead of the second game in a planned new trilogy."

Source: https://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2017/05/11/mass-effect-cancelled-rumour/

I guess "instead of the second game in a planned new trilogy" can be taken two ways though. Either by comparing Andromeda to the original series, or by meaning instead of what was originally planned for Andromeda.

I did some searching and this social media comment from Mac Walters is the best I could find on Bioware actually answering the question. "To be clear. Just because #Andromeda isn't start of a trilogy, doesn't mean we haven't been planning for future adventures. Just not 3 acts."

Source: http://www.cinemablend.com/games/1583059/will-andromeda-be-the-start-of-a-new-mass-effect-trilogy

I find this worrisome. To me it translates into EA forcing their hand, being more interested in doling out micro-transactions and DLC, vs establishing a fleshed out story you follow from one title to another. Perhaps this is why Bioware were so tight lipped when asked at a stage demo if they were planning to solve the problems with the original series not tying things up well enough in the end. They literally avoided answering that part of the question. Clearly from what their former writers have indicated, EA is not interested at all in paying for decent writing, and it shows in both dialog and story. Maybe eventually they'll get smart and realize it's going to destroy their ME fanbase. A lot of former ME fanatics have already indicated they prefer to wait until it's $20 or less. Get smart EA, or is that asking too much?

EA destroyed Dragon age also.

I loved the first Dragon age. The second installation was a big MEH but played anyway. It was still a huge let down. After that, I didn't bother with any future Dragon age installations.

How I started to hate EA was that they destroyed my most beloved game: Ultima Online.

So, I just downloaded the trial. I can honestly say, I have no clue what people are complaining about. This game is stellar. Amazing visuals and sounds. Game mechanics work good to. Probably the best game I played recently.

Well, I just played 3 hours, I liked ME 1-3 a lot, with last update if you don't ever played ME1-3, the game it is ok(if you can buy as me, at 50%), but if you played those before, this one it is mediocre. If there was no Mass Effect in name, well, the game wouldn't have so much negative reviews, but they used some ''parts'' from ME1-3 and wanted the money of fan players(easy money, right?), but was a fail in the end, from the point of view of a fan of ME universe, it is ok though as generic game, at 30EU, mediocre, but it is summer and no Witcher 4 in sight(or something at same quality)...

I installed this game on my pc, few days ago. Still unable to play this game as it stuck at loading screen forever.
Searched the related issue over internet but failed to gain any solution.
Please, help me to play this game if anyone know the exact solution of this bug.

Just saying...
I finished the game 80ish % done and I had no Idea I had beat the game...
The main mission/side mission didn't have enough separation OR any at all...
I literally was like "Is that it? Oh ok I thought I was just starting to...FU"
I really thought they had purposely broke the game up to fleece people through DLC but they didn't...seriously wtf? EA, W.T.F!!?

I had a very clear following of the main story and side stories. It all felt pretty well integrated. It's amazing two people can have two separate experiences from the same game.
