Mouse changing pointer by itself??? [Solved!!]

Does it do the same with it on too?

I took it off because someone in this thread told me to: just doublecked it to be sure it hadn't turned on by itself via a FF update or something like that.

I said that about the accel but I'd say try it on too to see if you have that issue from that game.

Tried it but no go.

By the way: it's not just the search engine because it's happening to this reply.

Strange ...

Typing REALLY SLOWLY ... after alt + tab from grim dawn game. Check the following video:

Forgot to mention in the video but, when i say "notice the mouse", the mouse's icon is incorrect and it only becomes correct after the typing is finished. In the post i'm typing it has the shape of a huge "I" letter, which is normal, but in the previous post (#79) it should have the standard arrow icon and it doesn't, @ least while the typing isn't finished. It becomes correct once the typing ends.

After exiting the game typing becomes ok, as can be seen @ the end of the video.

@ least, the problem with the mouse, which caused me to create this topic, hasn't happened again ever since i installed drivers 16.12.2: seems fixed, @ least for now ...

I'd let Mozilla, Game maker and AMD know about this issue...

This didn't happen with previous drivers which means i'm inclined to think it a driver issue, unless there's been a FF update without me noticing that screwed things up.

Ofc, there may have been a game update that i didn't notice ... so there's that too ...

There have been issues with FF as of Late. I am using WF V48 myself.

just to screw with you, i have the same slow typing issue with nvidia and chrome, when i alt tab out of DX11 games

not as bad as the video above, but similar

Does your mouse get affected like how i described?

It's a very recent thing because in previous drivers it didn't happen. Will have to report this behaviour later to the relevant parties, as eidaraman1 suggested.

EDIT

Also: how do i edit the original post to reflect that, as of installation of drivers 16.12.2, the original mouse problem seems gone?

Happy to inform that, as of the installation of drivers 16.12.2, this issue never happened again.

Have NOT upgraded to the newer drivers, yet.

Can't edit the original topic to add "[solved] to the title, as well as a description of how "i solved it": even reported my own original post but no luck :(

That said, i still have this slow typing issue. It's not FF related because it also happens in Word, for example, so it's either drivers or game related. No replies yet in the AMD forum to this issue. Sent a mail to the game developer a few moments ago.

Thanks.

Now, anyone having this sort of trouble can have it fixed (original topic).

I'd really report it to the Game dev, it maybe auto setting affinity for the game to take priority thus hog system resources

Already did: thanks.

Turns out the very slow typing while alt + tabbing from the game was something with the game after all (dunno what, exactly).

Did these steps:

Run the repair.exe utility (It is usually located here):
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\Common/Grim Dawn

Update DirectX:
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=8109

Update VC++ Redistributables, mainly 2015 86x - didn't do this one because i was unsure if i needed the x64 (my windows is x64) or the 86x
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=48145

Verify Files as described here:
https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=2037-QEUH-3335

I'm typing this reply WHILE alt + tabbing from the game. The slow typing is gone!

If you are running 64bit windows install the 64bit module

from experience there, x86 is for 32 bit games and x64 for 64 bit - the host OS is irrelevant. Interesting that something like that caused the lag issue.

Not sure what you mean by that. I merely did the steps i was told, with the exception of that one because i didn't know which version i should use. Even without that one step, the problem got fixed.

Dunno what it was exactly but it was definitely game related.
