NVIDIA GeForce Experience Gets UI Update, Won't Work Without Login

Don't see any issues with that when your phone does the same thing...? Mind you, I don't and won't use a cell phone.

Personally, I think anyone complaining about having to log in that owns a cell phone is quite hypocritical. But that's just my opinion.

I hate that GFE game optimizations add DSR to my desktop, and that when it does, it negatively affects system performance nearly 100% across the board...
Well, the primary complaint would be there is absolutely no reason to have always online DRM for a freaking GPU driver. It's a driver, requiring an internet connection to make it work is complete BS. It doesnt have even the slim justification of an OS doing that. You cant pirate a GPU, and the drivers are free, so....yeah.

Here's the better question, WHY should I, in this hypothetical hell world, have to log into nvidia's servers to use the GPU I bought? What is the reasoning here? The only reason nvidia would want that is to force users to upgrade older models, which the PC community, rightfully so, is not fond of.

Also, phones do not do the same thing? Believe it or not, a phone can work without a sim card. I can boot up my note 4 with no sim card or wifi and use it to run apps from google play with no issues, unless said app is trying to connect to the internet. a phone running ASOP android doesnt even need an email to run with said SIM card.

Even apple products can be run with no internet or appleID. Getting apps can be a pain with no access to the app store, but it is doable.

Same applies to the drivers. This particular set doesn't comes with the new GFE.

Anyway, Win10 does the same thing too (if you choose to have login-features enabled). Sure it works without internet too, but nearly any time I do anything with my Surface, location data is taken too. But I don't care about it, TBH. My Surface boots faster and does most things just as fast as my desktop w/6700K.

I still don't care much for privacy. That's not why I do not have a cell phone.

Online privacy and always online DRM are two VERY different things. I was joking about the latter, not the former.
Also, if you dont care about privacy, why no cellphone? That makes no sense.

It's very simple. PC sales are on the decline in a huge way because cell phones offer access to the internet, so average Joe doesn't need a PC for internet access.

I work from home, and often when I leave, there is someone else with me that has a phone, should emergencies arise. I have ZERO need for a cell phone. I have a land line and multiple PCs with internet access.

Plus, then I don't have a girl harassing me wondering what I'm doing. :p I like spending time with people face-to-face whenever possible.

I'm not your average person. I don't have a livingroom full of couches and TV. My livingroom is full of PC parts and hobby-grade RCs. I take my kids for a 5 Km walk every day, with the RCs as their enticement. When I'm spending time with my kids, nothing needs to interrupt that. I'm busy. If I leave my house... I'm busy. WTF do I need a phone or internet with me for?

i just wont use it. i dont use it anyway so..

Upgraded driver. Uninstalled GeForce Experience. Too many apps checking what I'm doing already. Going to start cutting down on this. None of their friggin business.

Imagine if every driver required a login. They'd make you login to breathe air if they could.

Am I the only one that actually likes and uses GFE? Been using it for quite some time now and have no complaints.

Yeah zero issues really, it's a bit sluggish at the best of times but no biggy, it's worth it for ShadowPlay and the drama it creates on forums.

This unnecessary software offers me nothing I want or need.

Yep, now that it requires a login, probably wont ever install it again.

Agreed, I lived with it just so I could get updates easier but now thats just going to be a pain so good bye GE

People use this stuff? I'm a bit surprised. GF Experience is probably good for screen recording but that's about it.

Automatic driver update? Why would I need that?

Optimize your game settings. What? I don't want some program to mess with my settings.

I had been using this for a while but not anymore. It just slows my PC down and delivers more problems rather than help.

tried to update last night and neither the driver nor the gfe could upgrade. anyone else with this problem? (gtx 950m)

So they finally implemented the mandatory account. Was only a matter of time. :ohwell:

I'll go create one...

"So they finally implemented the mandatory account. Was only a matter of time."

I instantly uninstalled GeForce Experience!

(bothered my arse to create an account on this forum though, just to post that... ...how ironic)

 Oh, the irony indeed...

I have installed GFE only by accident in the past. That is the only way it will happen.

Those of you 'enthusiasts' here in need/enjoy the convenience of the training wheels... enjoy! :p

no one said you had to...

I use it because I honestly dont see why not. I love the conveince of using it for built in FPS counter and ease of use to record gameplay when an epic moment happens and it captures the last 4 minutes (or however long I set it to record) of the game play leading up to the epic moment.

People are talking about bloat? For as much hardware as the majority of us have on here (8GB+ RAM, skylake CPUs, mass storage, solid state drives, very high end GPUs) no one should really be complaining imo.

LOL, literally died :D

Never really needed it, certainly don't need synchronisation across devices, absolutely hate the idea of persistent 'offers'. Forced registration is just irritating. I've uninstalled Experience.

So congrats, Nvidia; you just blew a working medium to promote new stuff through the previous tolerable ads by insisting on contact details. 'Byeee!

Amazes me the amount of whining in this thread...
