Nope. It never worked right with the couple of cards that actually supported it in the first place. If you plan on getting a 6950/6970, just turn the on-board off.

BTW 6970 waiters.. prepare for disappointment.

Sorry, that's all I'm going to say right now. On the other hand, some people may look at this card as something really good when launched. It depends on your perspective.

Nah, I heard my info from an internet friend who claims to have the card. I'm not saying anything, and if anything I posted this to see you all squirm, (It's Friday and I've had a long week) hehe. He could be just being an ass an pulling my leg with his info. though he sounded like he knew what he was talking about in regards to the card. Thing is, he's seen all the same info, opinions and rumors circulating the web as we have. When I asked him if I should buy a GTX 580 now, he said wait a week (Don't we all say that?). I'm somewhat split, and if this guy is lying to me (which is very possible) I'm sending him a box of dog crap for Christmas, seriously. Oh the drama! :D

Tell him to just send a photo of the card actual in use in his rig. Make him eat his words if he does not produce the photo!

Hahahaha awesome, but i say you know more than you are telling us and that you are making us dance like puppets to pass the time until the launch as you are bored  :p

even though i have been limited to buying nothing before the end of the year i still really want to know what they can do as all i want is a single card/chip triple monitor setup and nvidia can't give me that right now so i really hope the 6970 is suitable, i only have one 6870 now so hopefully it wopuld be a nice improvement over that at least.

Who know's with the eyefinity thing, though I would expect the 6970 to do pretty well. Hardforum will most likely to be the first to review eyefinity with this card. I'm pretty confident that the 6970 will suit you better over the 6870, especially with eyefinity.

Really a single 6870 is doing great on older games, 2 6870's did great with newer games but i was really not getting the kind of scaling possible and i think that is down to my cpu thus why the want for a single higher powered card.

Luckily with 5040x1050 only being 1.2 million pixels more than 2560x1600 i had been using that as a rough guide to see how cards did at near eyefinity resolutions and those will be the tests i will mainly be looking at on the 6970 reviews.

As long as the 6970 gives a nice jump in frame rates at 2560x1600 over the 6870 (which i really hope/expect it would) then it will be worth it for me at least but i must admit i really wish the 580 supported triple monitor setups as i like knowing that at any time i can just swap from one company to the other depending on who gives the product that best suits my needs, I guess i will just have to hope that the GTX680 supports 3 monitors.

Nope. This guy is kinda local to me, he runs a retail shop.

You have to think that 2gb's of even faster RAM then that of the 5870/6870 it's going to be better for higher resolutions.

Very true, even more so with certain AA settings such as x24AA, at 5040x1050 it was like a kick in the nuts to my rig and the frame rate was pretty much no different with one or two cards so i assume running out of memory was a problem there and not just them lacking the power for crazy settings like that with such a high res.

Well, I know that review sites already have the review already...it's just a matter of time now before we can see anything. AMD is really tight lipped about this one, which make's me wonder what are they truly hiding...Anywho's I can't wait because my 5850 crossfire did/does me great justice. It get's beat around with games that utilize heavy tessellation. That's why I want to go with 6970 Crossfire, or just 1 6990. However, if 1 6990 is faster than 2 6970s I will just go with 6990. The thing I am focusing on the most is power efficiency, tessellation, and performance. If AMD doesn't prove to be faster than 580, I will buy one 580 just to check out nVidia again. The last time I had nVidia was the XFX 512 MB 7950GTX

Nice box from HIS. Also I spy with my little eye something 2gb GDDR5.

so its seem HD 6950 will have 2 GB GDDR5 too ?? its really nice

btw:

I do not have the slighest idea where you came up with this answer ????? Eveybody that received their cards (Reviewers and Extreme Overclockers) have the final working cards with final Bios NOT betas , the same that its already shipping to e-tailers and re-tailers. There has never been a low-speed 6970xt and a fast 6970xt
Im deep in the industry and the Reviewers and Guys that got the cards for Reviews and testing and breaking World Records under Liquid Nitrogen are very dissapointed in the numbers , even overclocked , volt moded to hell and back it will never catch up with the 580GTX that its the thruth and have been done , the 6970XT volt mods are already floating around , well this will be my last words in here , the HD6970-XT will be up and against the 570GTX , the trade blows in the benchmarks. HD5970 will remain the fastest card on the planet. Wait a few days and you will see for yourselfs , most of you know my background in the industry and for that i cannot say more , AMD wants tight lips because 6970XT will be slower than 580GTX thats all.

Chispy Out.

It doesnt bother me if its not faster than the 580. I never expected it to be faster than the 580. It was designed to beat the 480 and the design was done then Nvidia surprised everyone with the release of 580.

Even if it was faster than the 580, Nvidia would release a 585 so it matters little that the 580 is a few percent faster than the 6970.

Only way i would be disappointed is if the 6970 is a lot slower than the 570...then we have problems.

As always is come down to price/performance.

Thanks for the dissapointing news:mad: but Im not believing it yet until I see actual benchmarks & reviews myself, and if what that source says is true, then this is extremely shitty news from AMD IMO:banghead::banghead:
