Problem with 6950 PCS++ "Flashing"

I setup my rma over the phone with Hugo. I unfortunately have to pay to ship my card to them but they are sending the new card next day air to me. There sending me a 6970 so I decided to go with it. Only other choice was for me to rma the card to newegg where I pay shipping and have to pay restocking fee. Powercolor would not cross ship. Im in the USA

It is simply unacceptable.

Even though they give you a 6970 doesn't make it fair. You're simply paying the extra cash in terms of shipping.

I will not pay even 1 extra cent to get what I should have gotten when I purchased the card in the first place. I want the working card in my hands without any bull****. They send the card first, I send them mine.

Make this a true apology PowerColor. Announcing it on Facebook like its a big deal is just your fancy marketing strategy and we don't buy it. Everyone with some sort of understanding would know that the whole wall of text written there means "yeah, your card is faulty and we accept to RMA it, but thats it. And oh, you gotta pay the shipment fees and wait a few weeks until you get what you paid for in the first place".

Be professional and sort it out like the company you are.

In Powercolor's defence, assuming I have understood the situation, they appear to be asking you to pay the shipping fees to upgrade a 6950 to a 6970. It may not seem fair or acceptable, but many companies would simply leave the customer with faulty merchandise without offering any form or recompense. All companies make mistakes, but it is their reaction to mistakes that ultimately counts and paying the shipping fees for an upgrade seems like a fair proposition to me, notwithstanding any inconvenience or disappointment caused.

Anyone who has some knowledge about this topic knows that a 'working' 6950 PCS++ is essentially a 6970, so its not an upgrade. We don't want it. They should send us a brand new 6950 PCS++, and they should send it FIRST. I'm not gonna wait weeks without a PC and pay on top of it because of their fault.

What is the price difference between a 6950 PCS++ and a 6970 and what do the shipping costs amount to?

If we have to pay ourselve it will cost ca. 16€.
6970 will cost up to 300€. The difference between 6950 pcs++ and 6970: ca. 30€

Powercolor can not demand that we issued our money for a defective product because the telling of what supposedly hand-picked GPUs.

If somebody dont have the Money for shipping, he must keep his defective card.

Then, whilst I admit that you are right and that you should not have to pay and further amounts, I personally would pay the extra €16 and call it a day. If you pursued this through legal channels, you would probably win, but the time this would entail and possible expense seem to offset any advantage. I understand your frustration, but €16 and a week of waiting seems to me to be the best alternative. I am not trying to detract from your legitimate complaint.

I think i will do it this way. But it`s not the right way to get satisfaction.
We will see if they answere my question about this.

7 workdays is the time RMA will be issued. I'm pretty much certain the time between I send my card and I receive the new one will be at least 3 weeks.

This is officially a move from PowerColor that does not show ANY sign of compensation for our problem. They are basically unloading a big pile of crap on us.

I want to ask their terms and details on the RMA process but they can't even get their email address to work properly.

I dont get any answer of every adress.

It seems the Emailadress is located to Taiwan. So they will have an other timezone. Maybe this will be the problem.

for what could it be a problem?

Not true, a item from newegg is not doing what it supposed to do they will either have you pay it and refund you after receiving or give you prepaid labels. Ya just gotta ask :). Same goes for the restocking fee as the card is faulty or not whats advertised they do not charge restocking fee's.

Im gonna call newegg if they waive the restocking fee ill rma for a refund

Let me try to clear some points:

- PowerColor will offer free RMA service on both ways, no expenses from your side shipping. In US you can ask for a pre-paid shipping label.
- We will replace the card for a PCS++ or similiar performance card (HD6970)
- Please note this is vale for cards that have the issue of the locked shaders

Keep in mind the email address will be served from Taiwan, and was created just a day ago. So from now you should get a prompt reply.

Any more questions feel free to ask

Thank you Powercolor.

I have sent today two emails. first Email over the German Home Page (contact form) and the second over the direct email adress. (called by Twist1809)

@Powercolor: If we got a new PCS++,will the card be checked before you ship? (1538 Shaders and GPU Clock)
