I feel somewhat unimpressed with the Barcelona so far, but what doesn't make sense is how much of a gain it gets from a small clock increase :-O

that's the first thing I noticed
    2.0 ------ 2.4
    39s ------ 32s
and that's just stock vcore, who knows, it may be able to go father with stock vcore let alone better cooler and more volts

this is beginning to make me think AMD is going for the same effect C2D gave, not incredibly impressive stock speeds but crazy overclock-ability

cause while intel might be more expensive them amd at the same speed, i know the extra cash that intel charges will help me cause i can get juice out of that chip.

Well have to realize that Intel probably didn't plan on making their chips over clocking friendly, it just turned out that way. As far as over clocking at all sometimes we need to realize that we're only a small niche market and that they should be most concerned about speed at stock speed rather than worry about that 1 in 50th person that is going to oc :p

That pi time is very similar to a E4500 stock... 2gig..

Like everyone is sayin though, I hope they can oc like the core 2's can. And yes that is a huge decrease in pi time for the small oc... Could be promising :)

Not long now though... Is anyone planning on getting one of those phenom chips on release day???

PI is meaningless for anything in real world useage. AMD has always suffered in PI while still maintaining the ability to do many other things very well. There are much more useful benchmarks to go by than PI........

Those Pi times make sense, they're both proportional to each other.

 dont you mean the 39.750s 1M or the 3m 22.953s 4M cuz even a C2D at 2 GHz gets almost 1m less in the 4M run
