Random shut down problem

but i made the case fans spin faster since its so freaking hot in my apartment so maybe something was overheating
Did you get an out-of-the-blue WHEA crash in a warm room? (with "Cache Hierarchy Error" usually being the given reason for me)

I'm starting to suspect this is a common Ryzen issue.

The PC system shut down then booted back up i got no errors of any kind
it has only done it once today not like when it shorting when it would do it every time the hard drives was working

Kernel 41 Error? Check event viewer

I suspect crappy apartment distribution power(panel/wiring), local transformer

So wheres your so called pal?

Hi,
Yeah really
Two options
1-Move
2-Battery backup

Surprised the poor retailer selling this stuff hasn't given you a free battery yet just to get rid of you

Just spent 2 and half hours testing the new RAM and it found no errors so its not RAM thats for sure
Went into the BIOS and i dont see anything has changed and i found nothing but i made the case fans spin faster since its so freaking hot in my apartment so maybe something was overheating

Also opened the front door on my Define 7 XL so more air can get in
The X570 chipset driver is up to date i just checked but the GPU driver is out of date so i am going to install the newest one

Edit: i just recalled that my surround sound receiver did the same thing as the PC the day before yesterday i was watching something then all of the sudden it shut off and came back on after a few seconds and its not even on the same power outlet as the PC

Not sure if the two is related but if its a power issue in the apartment anything i do to the PC is not going to matter
just remember that testing the ram isnt the same as testing the IMC.

You can fire up memtest for 3 days straight, but it wont help in the slightest if the CPU cores arent loaded like a game would, drawing power and causing vdroop

Or the classic CPU + GPU heat = unstable ram, that actually can happen with some memory types

Maybe HWinfo64 could be setup to record the PSU rails, just to see if it records a big drop at some point ?.

To necro my own thread turns out i found out what was wrong with the old PSU i had to RMA

At least some TX 750 watt units made between December 2018 and August 2019 has a problem with random shut downs when some of the SATA ports are used
Moving the SATA power cables to the row with 3 ports instead of using the row with two ports apparently fixes the problem

I have not used that row with my two new TX 750 watt units so i dont know if those two has this problem or not

I bought a brand new Seasonic TX 750 watt while the old TX 750 watt with the problem was in for RMA and i got a new TX 750 watt back from RMA
The one i bought is made in may 2021 and the one i got from RMA is made in june 2021

The old one with the problem was made in august 2019

I have not used that port on my two new ones as i suspected there was a problem with that port which now has been confirmed by another person
I dont feel like taking the PC´s apart to find out if my two new ones has the same problem i can risk damage to my hard drives by doing that

What we have been able to confirm is his made in dec 2018 has the problem and mine made in august 2019 had the problem
How many more has the problem we dont know but if anyone else has a TX 750 watt feel free to try it out

The shut down i had about two weeks ago was caused by an external power issue to the apartment and had nothing to do with the PC

For that last bit, definitely have a ups/bbu to protect your investment

I have a GX 650 in a Ry7 5800 rig
