READ BEFORE POSTING!! The Rules of this Forum

Is it ok to post members that have been blacklisted from other sites that may be traveling towards here?
yeah i'll agree with the idea on reporting them. being banned for trolling for example, isnt a concern unless they troll here as well... but the info might help us make a decision should they begin to do so.
Ok, well a member ripped off a couple people over at XS and Evga and I dont want him here at TPU.
I'll pm a mod from the BST section.
sending a message into the past:
repooooort, not PM.
Don't want to cause an argument, but other mods have said that "TPU doesn't care about members from any other forums." and "When using BST, it is your duty to research the other person, us mod's can't hold your hand"?? Or is it depending on the mod?

I can't find the thread where someone accused TheMailMan78 of posting kiddi pr0n on another site, but there's a nice example.

But, that message is heard Mussels, I'll remember to use report rather than PM.

We don't care about members of other forums unless they become members here.
We are not the interwebz police.

It IS the duty of people using the BST forums to do the research as the BST forums are simply a service to the members.

If there is a problem on TPU, we will try to assist as we are able, but the responsibility ultimately falls upon the people involved in the transaction.

it is your duty this is real life. don't do research go to a crap mechanic get crap work the same can be said in the BST. there are many forms of a BBB you can go look on heatware or ebay.

I still lol at that. I mean really? IF I did something like that do you think I would use my well known TPU tag? I was framed by the one armed man!

Exactly, I agree with you all; I believe very heavily in researching before buying and will verbally slap anyone who doesn't and comes unstuck... I was just highlighting (what I thought was) a minor discrepancy.
I suppose it depends, really, on how the user is slinging the accusation (like when a "police officer" accused a BST member here of ripping off him and others on another site, and Mussels (I think it was) gave him some choice words.)

EDIT: Man, I've just noticed this is the "READ BEFORE POSTING!!" thread and not the "What's wrong with our forums?" one... soz for the OT-ness.

It's okay Scam, this is where the issues with BST are usually discussed. :toast:

OK, YGPM!

did check and he's not a member here, yet. I'll check in another week.

did he say he wanted to join TPU or is this just preventive?

Just preventative, watchin out for my TPU friends :toast:

thats exactly it. you research it, if you find out somethings wrong, then report it and let us know. we'll decide if action is neccesary to be taken.

I think the rules need to be updated
"Your Heatware username must match your TPU username."
Should be added into the OP.

Thing is, that isn't true. You just need to have an alias that matches your user name and list that TPU is a place that you conduct trading.

Aah, the post in antuk's thread is slightly misleading then:
Your member name and your heatware names don't match and you didn't put in any alias. This needs to be fixed.

"Your member name and your heatware names don't match" implies that your member name and heatware names must match. Confused me for a sec.

/nitpick

Actually, you're right. I don't mind the "nitpicking", it was my error, I wrote it incorrectly. :toast:

READ BEFORE POSTING bump! :toast:

Pretty sure it was to bold the thread link so it's more obvious.

Hi everyone...I have a question:

what are the policies of TPU about Steam Key sales?

I have this problem. Under the holidays I wanted to get myself a nice racing game; somethin recent, so I kinda decided to go with Dirt 3. I bought it from a product key vendor for Steam and I "introduced" the game to my best pal later that evening. He seemes to have liked the game pretty much, especially the online races...so I tought hey I could just purchase another key for him like a Xmas present...Problem is this douche ordered a solid copy from ebay that same night :slap: .

Now I have a game Key for Steam to sell...can I sell it on TPU forums?

You MUST have a picture of the item WITH your name HAND WRITTEN on a piece of paper at the time you post it for sale. NO EXCEPTIONS!

Trade, buy or sell only goods that physically exist. No virtual items such as software licenses or WoW accounts. Items that can be sold on techPowerUp! can only be items that fit within this website such as but not limited to computer and gaming hardware. No asking for handouts please.
Don't post if you do not have physical possession of items for sale. You must have the items in your possession to sell them.

Hope this helps

I'm kind of confused about something. so if I bump my topic, and someone later comments after my bump....do I wait 24hrs from my bump or theirs?

As the seller, you can bump your thread once a day (every 24 hours).
Questions about the sale are not a "bump".

Correct, however if someone states "PM" sent, you don't need to come back with "PM replied."

Most people that PM you will already know that. It is more or less kind of like bumping your thread.

oh ok. Just wanted to make sure. This is the first forum I'm on where they have a 24hr rule. The others I'm on use 6hrs, so in that case it is pretty easy to go over 6 hours. But I wanted to be extra careful since this is my first time selling on here
